Ehhh sub 0 cooling is sub 0 cooling in my book regardless of air or water. Normal water is normal water and apples are apples and oranges are oranges. It's like comparing desert air results versus siberia air results ;)

Thats actually a horrible chip ;) a good 300 mhz slower than the good chips.

FYI I share, 2 of my best chips were just given away and sometimes requested back.

Maybe you wouldn't want more chips. There are strings attached ;) like almost a full time job no pay with barely enough funds to cover ln2.

well looks good but actually prime stable is another thing then just booting into windows^^

so far i lost my hope getting >4ghz with under 1.5v.. testing 3,85ghz 2,75ghz nb @ 1.4v (stock vcore) now ;) would be good for 24/7 combined with 6-6-6-20 timings :)

Sure I will after a certain date in january, for now said chip is being treated as "fragile" ;)

Looking forward to it. Everytime you speak of a mediocre or bad chip it is at least as good as mine or even better. That's why i want to see how good a good one really is. ;)

Hmm well when I say good or bad i'm usually talking about ln2 binning.

You can see results on bot for cpu-z. This particular chip I have marked as a 6.5gig all cores chip which means thats the max valid of it on any core. Far from stellar but a rather balanced chip. I just kept it for air/water testing and crud, ram compatibility testing etc etc.

Last night was testing / reviewing ram and was bored so I ran a couple results just for fun. Surprised no one noticed a budget set of 1600 c7 doing 1800+ ;)

7-8-7 was pretty much what i had expected from this ECO kit. What do you say? BBSE?

Most C3 chips will do uniformedly ok with up to -79C (dice)

Top of the binned C3 chip will shows when cooled <-100C, just my 2 cents:)

Actually from my testing the only factor that matters is voltage and how the chip fares with voltage. Does it like voltage or not and does it scale with voltage.

I tested about 6 chips one day at 1.55v on ln2. Every chip hit the same exact max speed for all cores. It wasn't until about just over 1.7v that the chips became individuals and at that point and beyond they started to vary greatly. I have duplicated this quite a few times in diff sessions.

So the reason is not the temps but the voltage range on DI.....you will never get into that voltage range save maybe a valid on DI.

Air is a diff story. Best way to bin for air chips is to test them at the same voltage and just note temps....the hotter they are loaded at same voltage and speed the sooner they will hit a wall. Unfortunately you can't bin ln2 chips on air....seen way to many "good" air chips epic fail when cold.

Chips vary greatly on air/water ;) ahem....24/7 all year round air/water I should say.

Balanced core chips like this are good for testing/reviews and 24/7 rigs but won't do anything stellar PI wise.

I think all of them are good, each has its own benefits and drawbacks per application....only thing is the MSI is hit or miss above 1.7v, if its a miss = dead cpu.

For MSI I test with a dud cpu and run prime 95 on water with high volts.....If board dies its a miss ;)

btw its on water, core is at 51-52°C (but idle at 37°C and cpu-socket at 49°C so rather accurate temps i suppose)...

Your temps seem about on par to what i have seen avg 15C delta between idle / load for normal water.

I find your chip testing cool, and that's it, finding the best one, presenting it in the best light, experience is what counts, with one chip you can't see the difference and learn from the first hand...

I have some problems with ln2 session preparation, i'm very excited about it and very sad with delays in the same time...

For Siberia and Sahara, I don't know about your book, but I know that while submitting your score at hwbot they don't ask you where did you bench it, or what is your temp, they ask you is it air, water or what kind of sub zero cooling...

The chip testing I do is a tad more technical than you think, with only 5 liters I can tell you everything about a particular chip, what benches it will pass and at what speed without having even run them ;). Basically I profile silicon through all temp ranges.

I just happen to understand alot about the electricals of the chips and the how and the why.

What kind of delays for ln2?

Yah it doesn't bother me but when comparing results it's best to be humble based on actual temps of cooling when making a comparison ;)

My cpu was above 30C idle.

First when I received my chip my ddr3 memory died, I was benching with ddr2 and cheap mobo while waiting, then my new memory arrived and my ln2 partner got sick, he have all ln2 equipment, now he is healty but my ln2 sponsor closed for holidays :( Man, I'm bored of waiting :( But I think I found SS in the meantime, Mach II GT is good I think, next cpu will have richer oc experience with me :)
