Tuniq 120, tried a small water system and it was worse. ;) I hit the wall on my Striker at 2140, 2141 was a no go into XP, no issue posting up to 2160 but anything over 2140 at any multiplier was just frustrating.Quote:

here is what I got
FSB = 1.2...it goes to 1.45 if set on auto, but won't boot
nf spp 1.3
nf mcp likes between 1.6 and 1.75
ht spp likes between 1.35 and 1.55
if any of these are out of range higher or lower, this board won't boot
Is that strange or what?
btw s/n is 610068003784
the first board ended with 5857

oh and also...to get 1890 to work, had to set mem to 666...667 was a no go

What do you gain by overclocking the PCI-e Bus? is that noticable in benchmarks or RL gaming?

Just got my eVGA 680i delivered today and I'm about to set it up! Man this thing is beautiful and I like that all cables are black! This will be my first ever Intel build and since I need to salvage the GTX and HDD from my current rig I'll probably be offline for a bit (which stinks because I'll probalby need help getting this thing up and running)! Thankfully the Owners Manual seems to be pretty decent and easy to read and I've tried to do as much research as possible up until this point so wish me luck guys!
Serial Number: xxxxxxx11453 (must be fairly new as this is high number)? I hope it's sorted for the most part, plus I guess I should update BISO ASAP to P21?
it should be very easy for you to set up. good luck, if your using the audigy 2ZS you wont need p21...p20 will work just fine. onboard sound is actually really very decent. killer rig you are gonna have there ;)
After a fair bit of tweaking I managed to get my BFG 680i to post above 400FSB. I had to "enable" Execute Disable Bit to do it and can now post at a max of either 479FSB or 459FSB, can't remember.
Also, leaving the FSB voltage at the "safe" 1.5v, as suggested in the Nvidia 680i overclocking guide, would result in system lockups after a few minutes, including a wierd super Pi issue where it would repeat the same loop time result from around the 4th loop. I actually got a 37second 8M Pi time, now that's gotta be a world record :D. It gave a checksum and all I just couldn't save a screen capture.
Reducing the FSB voltage to 1.4v seems to work as it ran 8hours orthos blend at 450FSB after that.
Does anyone have any tips on what is essential for 680i FSB clocking? I hear alot of people talking about "the steep learning curve of 680i" but not many people sharing that info to help others :down:
hmm cuz i think for one that almost every 680i is different from the other! haha~ but well one tip is spp and mcp volts plus ht must go up.. i put mine at 1.4 and 1.65 for mcp.. helps in stability and stuff.. tts for my board at least...
the disable bit dosent really do much for me so far.. with or without i boot over 400fsb~ maxing around 446... havent pushed further yet thou~

Ok, i must say im pretty happy so far. Since i know my chip was super stable at 3.4 on my last board, i went straight to 3.5 (391x9) I left the ram out of the picture for now, leaving it at a hella divider for 780 at 5-5-5-15. Nevertheless i was able to do a 14.813 1M pi, which would certainly be lower with not suck crap mem settings.
One compliant though is that fisrt off, ntune is crap. Random crashes for no reason, and it clocks my GPU at like 680/800. It maxes the mem slider out, but cuts me 40Mhz on the core of what i got on my old board using coolbits. Because of this i wasnt able to beat my old 06 score at 3.4 and 722/800. I will install coolbits and just not use ntine for anything anymore. Also, when i get more free time ill play with the ram and optimize the system. Would love to see 3.6Ghz+ and 13.xxx PI. :woot:
