You guys have to remember ram clocking is not all about high fsb's on AMD boards its about latency also. I ran ddr600 with 3200Plat rev2 yes....but the EB at a lower fsb was even faster.
If you have the chance of EB and it turns out to be killer i would stick with it. I know if i put my ddr600 (3500EB)modules up here for sale here they would be gone in under 60 secs..these 2 3500EB modules maybe even better.
The advantage is Rev 2 clocks better with a 1GB set. So if that is what you want then get Plat Rev 2.
Faster in what?Quote:

I think running CAS 2,5 on this TCCD based mem is a lot better than CAS 3 and is posible at the same speeds as CAS 3.
CAS 2.5 will always usually be better and faster. Although it all depends on what the RAM can handle and at how high of clocks.
no, but im interested tho' :)Quote:

ah some nice numbers at AT :D
but i'm just amazed that people all seem to be selling their BH-5 for +/-300MHz memory, while in some cases the BH-5 is actually faster!
for example look at the BW record from Onepagebook,
that is done with bh-5 (8352/8240 @ 278.6MHZ)
I would really like to test an EB stick, but could never get one =(
For the 1Gb overclocks Rev 2 is better.

I agree. Major flucuations in cpuz but i dont think its cpuz. I set 1.4 in bios and cpuz would report 1.37 and would reboot after couple of mins. I thought these japanese caps were supposed to help? :stick:Quote:

SpaceMan & Noobie
Samurai Jack has done a lot of testing on the voltages with this board, it just simply is not flucuating the way it looks. All testing was done with $500.00 DVOM from our shop.
One note about voltages & this board. When setting ANY voltages you must Exit & save in bios TWO times( set voltage- exit&save - re enter bios - exit&save again) you do not have to reset the voltage but for some reason it want apply them on the first try. I believe we have incountered this from day one of our board.
As far as the voltages they are rock stable even in the high setting.
Hope This helps.
-Jess-
Then if I understand it; when I change my settings and change any voltage to mantain my system stable, if I don't re-enter bios and save again, I will be trying with more speed, fsb, mhz or what ever I changed but with the voltage I was running before the change? If so, I could have done many tests with different settings than the ones I thought I was testing and could have discarded configs cause I was running not enough voltage bit without knowledge that I could be running at a smaller voltage than supposed one.
I haven't noticed that but I'm not 100% sure that it doesn't affect my mobo. Does somenone know if it affects all mobos or it's only with that?
I run 24/7 and I don't want to reboot at this moment, so I'll wait for your replyes or will check on my next reboot :)
My english is not very good. Fogive me if my post is... not well explained
Yeah that is correct...F10 & ENTER *REBOOTS*..Enter BIOS again and then F10 & ENTER. I came across that last night. It is weird that it does that.
I've had to reboot to change my vid card so I've tested that must of saving twice before voltage gets the new settings.
My mobo hasn't any problem with that.
My bios is 09/12/04 with vdimm 3.1v limit, not the modded one
I have the modded bios 09/14 and it works without a glitch... no 2nd bios saving necessary - the DFI-util on the disk gives me the bios-set voltages in windows right from the start...
Woohoo! Mine just shipped 5 hours ago.
Now for the rest of the PC...
yeah i run the 4v modded bios too and i havent noticed the 2nd reboot thing? infact i never heard of that til now! btw what are you guys using to cool your nb? i have this thermalrite NB-1 but i cant use anything for my video card but stock and im suffern bcause of it. i need to get somthing low-profile so i can get better cooling on my video card. any ideas?
thx perc.
Perc, I amagine many are using the stock cooler on the NB.
For my MB cooling I am using what came on it but with a little bit of air pushing on top of it..
As shown here...
Of course you know where the MB is located even though you can't see it...but it stays pretty cool just like that and I am running v1.8 to it. That little Vantec Dual PCI Fan system works pretty well. And I attached two fans together at a 90° to form that and it just sits on top of my GFX and cools that back of my card as well as the side fans blows the air in down on the MB. Highest I have seen my MB go was 35C or so at full load. It goes as low as 28C idle. My CPU idles at 26-29C, full load it will hit 40C. For air cooling this isn't bad. I got a few ideas of some other places to mount fans but I had to order some 3-Pin-to-4-Pin adapters and I am going to rig a fan blowing straight down on the RAM slots. Pushing air across the whole board. I got the idea from OC_Newbie. *Thanks man :toast: *
i got my board today :D and put it in case. i have a 60mm fan rigged up on ram, this board has so much more space around ram, on my kv8 pro the hs touched the ram.
when i can backup my e drive ill install xp and then we can see some numbers!

what dimm do you consider dimm1 the one closest to the cpu or the farthest? reason i ask is becuase with the one closest to the cpu i can not run using 2 sticks i have to use the middle one and the one farthest away from the cpu to run two sticks....
*edit* ok i see on the pcb that dimm 1 is closest to the cpu so its dimm2&3 that i have to use to run 2 sticks....
thx perc,
Well it seems that the CPU makes a big difference when it comes to how high you can clock your RAM as well. Since the memory controller is onboard. I am stuck with my CPU that doesn't allow me to clock my CPU very high with high RAM clocks. I get errors. But even when I do not get errors in MemTest-86, Windows still isn't stable. I am wondering if more voltage would help that? But I already have my RAM at v2.9 and TCCD maxes out at that pretty much. I do plan to add a few more fans.
I see your using 2T...does it work with 1T as well? And the one closet to CPU is DIMM3 correct? Sorry I can't remember...I am not at home at the moment. I am at the girlfriends because she was getting jealous.Quote:

That is a perfect example on why you get a slave drive or partition your main drive into 2 parts for atleast your music. For me I do that and I make a backup copy of all my music and important data on my parents PC that I partitioned a section of their drive as well. I just sent the data over the network. I know with Mach I & II evap does not cover heatpsreader and is offsett infact. With LS evap is larger but still does not cover HS completely. Your R507 Mach I looks like it kicks ass pretty much to me. And it looks like you temps are better than my 3700 at similar Mhz under LS.Quote:

my temps are like 50/60, but on temp probe on side of chip they are 30/40, what temps are other poeple getting on air?

Before removing that spreader make sure you have the memory speed to match. Not much point in gaining 80 MHz on the CPU if you have to drop back a multiplier.Quote:

my new 3000+ seems to be really gay. it wont run 2.4ghz stable with 1.65v
my last one ran 2.5ghz 1.625v
is it the IHS making poor contact or does it need to be burnt in?
i will get another 3000+ when i rma the 2.5ghz one (which my kv8 pro fried)

any thoughts?

not sure for 2x 512MB as it will be looser than with 1x 256MB or 1x 512MB you really need to play with the settings using the testing outlined at http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?p=974#post974Quote:

It does not want to go past that FSB. I wonder if some more Vdimm or Vchipset will help?
hag6br has some really nice numbers!
eva2000, that looks good, but i get similar scores at 265 with really loose timings? and how do you do unbuffered runs?
and albrain what are your settings? looks good!
heres my best so far. thanks to afhung for the tip on using 4708 refresh with hynix D-43

HTT -> 275
HTT Multiplier -> 3x

ok then here is my unbuffered. looks pretty lame compared to your now. i gues buff'd likes fsb and unbuff'd likes tight timings. so what is the point of buffered and why is it default?
what are your full settings? esp. what Trc, Trfc, and Tref. and also what DQS value are you using?
i think that is enough tweaking for today, i flashed to 5/10 beta 4vdimm and am using 3.2v.
now i will play doom3 for the first time in ages since my comp was last up like a month ago!
great thx @eva :toast:

well first i tried to play D3, but it needed to be reinstalled so i cbf. then i went to play chaser, but i get pauses and artifacts due to the immense heat of the chipset. the probe i put on the top of the hs reads 45c. i have a zalman blue hs, but i dont think i could put it on the nb or it would block a better gpu heatsink being installed. maybe i will try. would the zalman have enough surface area? i dont think it could cover the whole chip as the bottom is a rectangle
Ok Eva, Here is an unbuffered benchmark for you..
A sandra Buffered Benchmark is a Maximum Throughput of the system and Sandra uses 7 different algorithims to calculate the score.
An Unbuffered benchmark is the Raw Throughput of the system Not using any special functions of the system, such as MMX, SSE, Hyperthreading, Burst transfers, Etc.
And Now Eva.. How are you keeping your system stable over 2.9V Vdimm. Anything I use over 2.9V Locks the system up tighter than a drum in Windows. and that is with 5 different types of Ram.
But my system won't even POST with PC3500EB Installed
what are those 5 types of ram ? what was used for that 325HTT 1:1?Quote:

If you already have the booster, give it a whirl. Otherwise, just see how high your pot turns up the 3.3v rail. If you can get say 3.8v on it, then you should be able to give the RAM 3.7v (with the 4.0v BIOS). You might find out you don't need a booster. :) I'm using a PCP&C 510 Deluxe, that only gives me 3.52v, for 3.4vdimm. I'm gonna see what my Turbocool 425 gives me, and if it's not any better, I'm probly gonna look for a booster. Heh, I was playin around last night, and got up to 7x340 using the 7/10 divider. :D I'm right next to stable @ 9x289 using 5/6, for 2601 MHz. I've narrowed my weak link down to vid card RAM, so I'm not done yet. ;)Quote:

But here is 287.5x8.0 = 2.3GHz @ 1.500 + 113%
Memory is at a 9/10 Divider giving me 258.75FSB at 2.5-4-3-10
you shouldnt get errors in memtest. in 1.26 try to run 5 full loops between ocing.
eva2000 apart from all the 2s and 1s im runnning the same as you, had to turn up async from 7 to 8ns and got a ton of stability
so the reason your 400mb\s higher than me is because of the 2-2-2? casue this is the best ram i have. :( now im gonna have to get to DDR600 just to catch up to you :lol
