i just got my new opty 165 CCBBE 0615EPMW on my dfi nf4 sli-dr board, and i can't go over 2700 prime stable i don't know what i'm doing wrong i just took out my x2-3800 toledo it was 24/7 stable at 2900 with the same ram now i can't go over 2734 right now prime stable, maybe somebody could tell me what i'm doing wrong?

Meh, it ran for about 4 hours and then failed :( I guess I don't get the magic 75% OC after all ;) I do get 3.0 stable with 1.575-1.60v.Quote:

It is true that some MB's don't mesh well with lower dividers and the Opty's memory controller. Did you try running Orthos small FFT's? That stresses the CPU only and should help narrow down possibilites for the culprit.Quote:

I cut my opteron IHS off and then put AS5 and remount the IHS back and it brought 5 degrees cooler 100% load temps!:D
I am still at stock cooler and stock volts. :banana: :banana:

Havent had time to orthostest it a lot yet. About 2934mhz at 1.4V seems pretty stable so far, idle 32, load about 50. Which would be enough for a 24/7 rigg, aint worth it getting +10 degrees loadtemp (around 63ish at core1, HSF mounting sucks) just to have it at 3ghz imho.
Just recieved my new Opty 185 from Komplett (UK) and the stepping looks good!
CCBBE 0615DPMW - they still have a few S939 in stock for £199. Will be upgrading my main WC rig - what is the top end on the 185 ?
I have a 165 with the same stepping and it does over 2.8 with stock vcore and I usually run it 24/7 at 2.97(330x9) 1.475v. It does over 3Ghz but it takes me 1.525v to keep it stable. I think you'll be pleased. :)Quote:
