I got to say though I really did like this board. I think for the money I had into it, it was worth every penny.Quote:

I am having problems with my Raid chipset on my GA-965P-S3. Each time I load a raid driver from the Gigabyte website I get a error.

I like speed, but I value stability too.
Does anyone think the "D9 flaw" will affect running tighter timings with lower frequencies in addition to the "FSB/frequency" cap of around 460/920?
For example it is known that d9MGH will often run 3-3-3 at FSB 400 or at least 3-4-3 provided you give enough volts (2.3 volts usually works)
My Crucial Ballistix is running 3-3-3-12-16 at 533mhz on my nforce4 board. It would never run that tight on the DS3.Quote:

Anyone know if f8i will work on ds3 rev2 boards? I know they changed out the nic controller for the one in the s3. I'm assuming it'd be fine since people are flashing ds3 on their s3's. Not really bothered to flash from f7 though. Running 400fsb and 4:5 1000 4-4-4-12 2.3v at the moment. Vdimm set in bios is 0.1v less than actual set voltage for me.
lol take a chance and let us know ;)Quote:

or should i say DS3P Rev 2
Patriot RAM isn't D9. Maybe I should pick up some Patriot and end my misery?Quote:

There is a DS3 Rev2 and a DS3P rev2. They are much different boards.
The DS3 Rev 2 has shipped sporadically from newegg over the last month. You can't be sure yet which one you will get. I am hoping my replacement ends up being a rev 2.

the rev 2 ie; DS3 w/ C2 chipset is no better than the original DS3 as it still has D9 issues.
i dont think we will see the DS3P for another 2 months considering how long it took for the Biostar board to show up here in the USA

For the time being I went back to my P5B-E. I'm not a patient person.
Look who's back ?! ;)Quote:

GB have updated the bios ROMs in the new beta bios, 1.06.59 for JMicron, i'm assured the Intel ROMs will also be updated.
Yeah I got my rev2 from newegg.Quote:

So what would be the best DS3 bios to use at this point with an S3 mobo? Still stuck around 400mhz FSB with the F6 bios... Can't give the vmem more than +.2 (2.0v) or the board wont get past the memory running dual channel part of boot... My hardware isn't the issue, as I've hit 460mhz FSB on a P5W DH with the exact same hardware at 8x multiplier, and was limited by the board...
F8I or F8J as long as your PC is on 24/7. Otherwise F7 sucks for OC but at least it holds the overclock.Quote:

Ahhh much better now. Time to try the new bios... Can I flash via @bios or do I need to do it via floppy since it's a different boards bios? I know GB has some idiot proofing with their bios flashing...

It has been way too long in coming but we should have a final F8 for the DS3 here on Friday or at least the new qualification candidate. Once we get it, I will post it up.
