Do you have the (2) aux power connectors on the MB hooked up as well as the molex connectors?
Might need them all connected for two 5970's.

Thank you guys for your advices but I tried everything
two molex 4 pin plugged, 5970's in slot 1 - 3 - crossfire not runing
none of the 5970's is runing in slot 3 or 4 with 2 plugs hooked and pcie switches on .... vga led lights and no signal.
my 4870 512 just runs fine in slots 3 or 4 so not pcie slot broken
Here they are, my current folding settings, stable, but still testing and trying out other combinations.

At 40.5v i dont see why not
Still nothing... Maybe if I raise it to 60V? :ROTF:

Nope. My 970 worked at 4.3 at similar settings.
Actually Disabled, but if I Enable it and change nothing, it doesn't matter.
Tell the most stable BIOS for matherboard...
:d:d
Very nice.:D
How is QPI PLL controlled on r3e? I couldn't find a setting for it...
Note, this is not the QPI/DRAM/VTT voltage. This is the voltage for the driving pll.
I have one think about this popular question, is very personal, but, i think the best bios for u, only u can know it, because, maybe one bios work perfectly with my combination of hard ( motherboard, cpu , memory ) and maybe with your hardware is not really good, or other bios works better, so , if u can try the bios your self, i think this is the best !
Regards!

Having issues with my new Build, i7 980X, Rampage III Extreme, 12Gb of Gkill RAM.
My problem is, with overclocking and stabilizing the system.
I've tried using the following: Prime95, LinX and Cinbench 11.5
Cinebench works always, (its quick)
Prime95 runs for hours (longest run was 9.5 hours)
Runs from 3333 all the way to 4300 without errors, after tuning
LinX, works something and yet not others.
On some boot it runs at 81Gflops, other times 51Gflops, this is regardless of the CPU/Memory speed, in fact at:
4200 with Memory at 1728MHZ, it does 81 on some reboots, when it does this LinX will run without issues for 20 runs, if after a reboot it is 51Gflops, then it normally dies with in 3 runs. This without change options only rebooting. In both cases Prime95 runs for hours without issues.
Cinebench shows no change in performance when I run it no matter the speed of LinX.
So I'm confused if it is a LinX issue, a MB issue or what as I am at a loss to understand why LinX only works sometimes and then returns far better results then when it does not work, when nothing has changed that should affect performance.

I was able to push the blck a little further tonight. Lowered my Wprime32M, SuperPI 1M and 32M times. I have reached CL8 max mhz as it doesn't scale any further with vQPI or vDIMM. SuperPI and wPrime32M were faster when I changed strap to DDR3-1795 from DDR3-2244 and tightened timings.
I was able to get Vantage to pass video tests with 5870 at 1055/1325 but blue screen 101 vcore shortly into first CPU test. I tried raising but still crashed. I'm still working on that one:cool:

Nice results mate! Have you try running them setting in Hyper pi 0.99b!
Hello
I have an Adaptec Scsi controller PCI-E 1x card that i would like to add to my PC.
It worked fine on my Asus P6T Deluxe v1 Motherboard.
But not on my Rampage III Extreme with 1005 bios, or any other bios for that matter...
I've tryed to disable all onboard controllers... USB3 etc etc.
The PC runs fine thrugh post and scan for SCSI drives.
But when it then should go into bios or boot windows there is just a black screen - and nothing happens.
I've head about this issue before on the Rampage II motherboard. And there the solutions seamed to be wating for a new bios?
Here at my curse i dont have the model number of my SCSI controller, but ill get that as soon as i get home.
Best Regards
Vejby
