Is this 0902 some kind of practical joke???
With it I can't use the CPU RATIO SETTING (fixed to auto)
& flashing back seems impossible, because there are no further options when it says:
"Version in ROM file is older than existing board!"
Cheers!
Well on idle its dropped by 3-4ºC, this is without any fans attached to either of them. Its hard to say given the heating in the house is on and off all the time! If you fit an 80mm fan to them with the supplied brackets you should see even better results! :yepp:
Same here. Flashed using the BIOS tool located in the BIOS and after clearing the CMOS I was greeted with a locked CPU RATIO set to auto. I also couldn't flash back to an earlier BIOS version which is strange since I have been able to flash back to 06xx and 05xx from 07xx numerous times. I just pulled the battery hoping that all will be well but that probably wont help.
using 0902 now and had no problems changing CPU ratio. Have you tried changing it in the CPU configuration settings tab (where EIST is) looks like 1/2 multis can be entered now too if your cpu supports
Before posting I flashed it 3 times w same result, however, after I downloaded it again and/or by copying to thumb drive again I got it working out of the Advanced Menu > CPU Configuration, where I now could enter the mutli/ratio manually by starting with a "0"...
@ Aldy402 > the latest reflash did not resolve the flashing-back-to-older-BIOSes-via-thumb-drive-issue, so I'm afraid you're right.. Hopefully they will resolve this in the next BIOS (2 days?).
Also, after flashing for the first time & running at default, my system crashed due to a bad OC  When I checked the BIOS the FSB Term was clocked at max 2V. After resetting this it didn't come back.
tbc..
Still trying to sort out my "stuck at CPU INIT", leaning towards a possible short somewhere. Question... I've been using the 4 pin 12v EATX connector rather than the 8 pin. Do you reckon that makes any difference?
Flashed to 0902 and running great and i also noticed that ASUS is implying the 0.5 multiplier soon.
Hello,
My Maximus Formula is just not working.
I am stuck on "DET DRAM" on the LCD poster, and the mobo won't post... I can't even get into BIOS. Lights are one, and fans are spinning, but no post...
I know this could be related to the default 1.8v for the memories, but I have tried a lot of 533 / 667 / 800 DD2 mem, that should be running fine with 1.8v or less than that.
The mobo won't post, and I am sure all of my hardware is working fine, since I have them working on the previous mobo...
I have tried a lot of memories, I have even tried clearing the CMOS overnight, with the battery off... Still no good.
Looks like there is an issue with my mobo, and I will have to RMA it.
Any other suggestions?

I'm at work right now. When I get home my plan is to
- disconnect everything from of the mobo including cards, drives, fans, RAM, CPU and cooler and inspect closely
- take mobo off of tray, lay it on my worktable (to eliminate possible grounding issues between tray and board)
- replace the CMOS battery that I pulled out last night
- hold down the power button for a minute or two to discharge capacitors fully
- plug the power connectors onto the board(this time I will use the 8 pin instead of 4 pin)
- turn on PSU
- push the Clear CMOS button
- turn off PSU
- disconnect the power connectors
- reinstall CPU and cooler
- reinstall one stick of RAM into DIMM Slot A1 (closest to CPU... agreed??)
- hook up one HD
- hook up one video card
- reconnect two power connectors to mobo - turn on the PSU
- should I try to CLEAR CMOS at this point also???
- hit the power button on the mobo
- pray
Any comments/suggestions... particularly the part about WHEN to hit the CLEAR CMOS button??
Do you folks use screw with fibre insulating washers to screw down your mobo, or just screws with no washers?
