Wait before u come to conclusions... ;)
@Tony...if we (enthusiast community) were to e-mail the companies and ask for more BIOS options, would they listen to us if there were enough voices?
Cheers, and thanks for the effort you`re making :)
Kenny
I'm confused, have just started my intel overclocking,
At 400x8 with one stick of crap ram, I am getting 19second in 1M superpi
At 425x8 I'm getting 18
I thought the strap would lower my performance?
The strap theory isn't so cut/dry. Depending on your setup (BIOS Settings and Hardware) it will change at different places I've found.
it does. at 1066 strap the spi time at 425*8 would be alot better (test it by booting at 1066 strap and then overclocking to 425FSB by clockgen)Quote:

tell us your rig specs and what memory settings are you using.Quote:

It lowers the RAM performance, but you still have 200MHz more in the 2nd test, so the advantage comes from that.Quote:

I've yet to see a chipset that requires wc'ing. However there is a first time for everything... :p:

hi all, pardon me for jumping in
Im curious bout this strap thing. Mr. Tony said that 400fsb has an added tweak. I already have bios settings that quite stable (SPI 32M & 3DMark 2005) @470 with P5B-D & E6300, and when i tried to boot @400 and clock it way up to 470 it seems there werent any improvement at all. I mean it gave me the same result as if i booted from 470fsb. But then i tried to boot @399 but it was very2 hard to keep it stable.
Any idea guys?
