Mmmm, I apologize for a noob question, but what's the story with CPUz and OCCT not detecting my vCORE?
Plus ASUS probe says 1.5V while it should be 1.35 according to the BIOS?
The combo is PII 940, ASUS M4A79 DLX, Vista 64, latest versions of CPUz & OCCT...

this is my new toy =) not a great chip, i had a chance to poke around with it last night for awhile and i think its an avg clocker. validated @ 4.125 no problem, didnt keep pushing. its running occt right now 15x250 for 3.75ghz @ 1.47v, 25 minutes in. in my closed case, temps are(hwmonitor): max temp 50c, idle 32c, ambient 23c. this is on xig s1283 w/ 2000 rpm fan nothing fancy, illl be putting a ultra kaze 3000 on it probaby in the near future
edit: passed occt with those settings, touched 50c 1 time otherwise sat around 47-48c... time for more mhz :D
yo guys i got a question, does upping the northbridge frequency on the phenom 2 show any performance increase. ive got a phenom 2 940be with 1066 ddr2 ram from ocz and asus m3a79-t deluxe motherboard. got ti to 3600mhz on 1.45v but just by changing the cpu multiplier to 18, so im wondering if its worth upping the nb speed.

The most interesting thing was that the cpu clocks better on the stock multiplier(x15) and bus increase.

Guys, just popped in my Phenom II 940BE.
It runs 3.6GHz and 2.6GHz NB on stock voltage stock cooler.
It even ran Prime but it bluescreened probably due to high temps.
Did SuperPi 1M at 3.7GHz easy.

Bluescreen = unstable, not temp related. 1mb PI is cake even unstable, try cinebench,3d06. looks decent though, likely 3.8 24/7 with good air.Quote:

When/If I get tired of running water I get the feeling the week 52 would be the better chip. It certainly runs alot cooler overall.
I'm waiting for week 01 chips to spin out, 01 has always been good to me. I could let people in on a secret as to why but I don't feel like dealing with disbelievers as I did in the stepping thread.....

Rather simple, all machines wear out with time and need to be recalibrated, retooled etc etc. This is usually done like clockwork based on a maintenance schedule.......Do the math.

CPU freq Y -> Score X
CPU freq (Y+1) -> Score X
First setup needs less power for the same score, ergo the power is being used more efficient.
Btw, check out the 67.9k efficiency. That's what I was expecting from your 333/666 HTT/MEM runsas well :)
Yah, PI has never been my strong point. For what its worth i'm using OCZ golds 5-6-6-18 1066, I don't have any good benching sticks :(
