I've had the same problem with the USB plug ins. When it says the memory running dual channel it freezes at any FSB above 399. It also freezes at the same point with any memory voltage above 2.0v. Still haven't got a USB -> PS/2 adapter but I was wondering if using the USB 1 2 or 3 nine pin USB ports will do the trick. Is the USB issue with all USB ports or just the 4 onboard? (965P-S3)
Just another day at the beach.....

Please remember this is beta! so dont blame gigabyte if you board blows up..also say thankz to hicookie from ocx :)

Also, the final F8 for the DS3 has almost completed verification testing, just doing some tweaking on the overclock profiles and such.
Well at least *I* know i didn't betray GB and release that beta...is there no benefit to using it anyways.
Revision 2.0 of the DQ6 has been posted!

Now...how does one get hold of this mobo?...how can you tell 1.0 from 2.0?, in terms of purchasing one online?
Is the packaging marked 2.0?, will retails know and advertise as such?
The layout hasen't appeared to be altered that much, from the low res image. The IDE connector has be bent over...in line with what was done with DS3-P. There seems to be some additional power regulators added around the DIMM area...but it appears to be mostly the same.
Can anyone else offer insight into what has changed?
I played at the game of the 7 errors :)
Here you have Hi res pictures of 2.0 :)Quote:

More pics.. here :)
looks great!...they have modified the heatpipes, the plastic pushpins holding the SB/NB have been replaced with spring loaded screws. The SB now has a new heatsink underneath the mobo.
Seems to be alot of Vdroop mods to make power regulation more stable, Vcore has been increased 1.95V. Looks very positive, C2 stepping etc. The 4pin fan header at the bottom of the mobo has been positioned verticle (was horizontal), the previously black plastic CPU protection cap is now clear see through.
Has the ICS chip been updated?, what about the Intersil chips?...i knew the Marvel LAN chip would be updated from 8053 to 8056.
Damn....i want one!
Know what?...i think GB have been using a copper/aluminium hybrid for their heapipes...look at the image, the very base of the SB is a different color to the finned area.
It's like the base of the NB/SB are copper + heapipes...but the fins and the rest of the heatsiink is painted aluminium. The hetsinks covering the MOSFET's all appear to be copper.
However the new design for the SB with the new heatsink on the back of the mobo should give more support and a more rigid design and equal pressure, so as ensuring good contact between the chip and the heatsink, the screws are much better design and easier to take off.

Mosfet heatsink are cooper :).. the crazycool plate is alu.. and thats all I think...
This new board is going to be great..
PD: Richard.. do you find any performance improvement using F8c bios compared to F7??
I did a small eye comparison.. and super pi 2m, is 1.5s faster with f8c..
Guys...the four inductor coils on the DQ6 1.0 have been replaced, but what are they?
They appear to be the same those around the CPU area, what are they called?
Look at rev 2.0 for the DQ6

Now look at rev 1.0

See the bottom end of the mobo, near the Purple SATA ports..what are those three green transistors?, some of the capacitors have been moved/replaced, 2.0 Made In Taiwan - 1.0 Made In China :-)
I think its related to stability wtih quad core processors. Maybe the also did it to fix the coil noise issueQuote:

Hello guys,
I am seeking a bit of advice - I have a DS4 mobo and I've been trying to get proper core voltage readings. This seems to be one hell of a task - differerent utilities seem to report completely different results. I've set Vcore in BIOS to manual, value of 1.275V (I'm running E6400@2.8GHz), EIST, C1E, TM2 all enabled. However, CPUZ says core voltage is 1.248V, no matter whether core clock is 2.1 or 2.8GHz (it reads clocks correctly though). On the other hand, Everest reports Vcore as 1.325V@2.8GHz and 1.163V@2.1GHz. With that said, 1.325 is a 'normal' Vcore for DS4. Any suggestion which other utility to use? Or is there some explanation for Everest reporting 1.325V despite me setting 1.275V? When I used RM clock for Vcore control, Everest used to report exactly what was set in the RM Clock - but I want to avoid using RM clock. Thanks for help.

did you know any change log of ET5
Why i could set my FSB to my normal 425x8, upon shutting down my OC would be disabled. As such i am using default settings until the new F8e beta comes soon. Hopefully this should sort things out...didn't bother to bench.Quote:
