Not sure of my stepping as I didnt write it down before I stuffed it under the waterblock. Kinda a pain in the ass to get to it at the moment. (any software/programs able to tell what that stepping code is?)
BUT here is what I have it at now and stable with Prime and just flat out running the hell out of it.
Opteron 170/MSI K8N Diamond Plus/ 1Gig of PC4400 Gskill LE/ Water cooled CPU/ EVGA 7900GTX/ PCP&P 510 Deluxe SLI/ASL PSU

I am not sure why it does that. But its set at 1.5 vcore with a Vdimm of 1.6 and a full load temp maximum of 46c on the CPU. Idle its at 30c and below roughly. If I bleed the air out of my water cooling system Im sure I can keep it cooler more easy.
Here is a Screen shot for you.

Well yesterday I received my new proc an opteron 165 ccbbe 0615dpmw:woot:
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...o/1024x819.jpg
As you can see there's an wooping 13C diference in temp between cores. But that's not a real problem on load they almost get even at 46 ( as5 needs to settle in more ). The problem is that even at standard speeds my system shuts down when I run Orthos, it never did this before with m 3700+ it's irritating me. Someone got an suggestion.:(
I did have same problem on mine the cure was ihs off and more vcore... that made the temps to go closer.Quote:

Well the temp idle is not the real problem. I wanna know why my system shutsdown with no sign at all. Could it be an driver error because of the dualcore proc?
0615dpmw?.. thats sounds like a bad ex you got there.Quote:

I can't top around 2.50 GHz stable at stock voltage, and even with + 0.125V I can only hit around 2.6 GHz. (dual prime95 testing). Temps are like 48C load, though CoreTemp reports like 54/58C.
Is it the ram divider? I'm forced to use DDR300 or DDR233. I've tried to avoid fractions in my ram clock speed, but that doesn't seem to help.
My motherboard is an Epox 939 Ultra (9NPA3 Ultra), which supposedly is a great overclocker according to Anandtech. I can run 300 FSB fine if I set CPU to stock speeds.

Well i have an OCZ modstream 450 Watt, should be enugh i thought...Quote:

Give us a complete description of your rig. Hmmm 450 watt huh?, sounds low for these days, but since you are no overvolting the vcore should not be a problem. But still tell us the rest of your pc, what do you have in that case?Quote:

The good news is that I just started playing with it and right now I'm 4hours orthos stable at 2.85Ghz with default voltage. The bad news is that at some point it reaches 64C on both cores. I saw some pics from other users that ran opty dual core at 70C and it was stable so I'm not sure if I should be worried. I have a thermalright XP90 with low noise panaflo fan (I'm a quiet PC fan). I want to see how much further I can go at stock vcore but the temp scares me a bit...
any advice? I included photo with some basic staff

are all those opterons that good or I got a golden chip?
UPDATE: also why some prgrams are reading my cpu as toledo and some as dentron? I'm pretty sure it should be dentron everywhere...
Mine do 3040mhz+ Super pi1m with 1.52v and air(23c)Quote:

I was very excited and didn't pay much attention to the stepping but I remember it started CCBBE 06xx (x is what I forgot) and opty is 175 denmarkQuote:

A short story:
My Ram runs in Memtest for severals hours with 250 Mhz. 3-4-4-8
So i try to get as close to that as possible with ram divider.
A few day ago i set my CPU to 280x10 and have her VID x 107,2% (DFI Expert Board) LDT: 1,30V and Chipset 1,59V... Ram as usual 2,66V (OCZ Gold)
Measures with a multimeter die Vcore was at 1,427V.
The :banana::banana::banana::banana: runs only 1.18h in Orthos ...
Ok well. Then i tried the same with 270x10.
Orthos... 18 Min
WTF?!?
Did a CMOS Reset and tried again.
My :banana::banana::banana:ing Opteron 170 does not get Primestable at 2700Mhz with 1,4V.
Crashed at 30 Mins in Orthos again.
Why the does she run longer with 2800 than with 2700? How much Voltage can i give her?
My Temps are quite Good i Think. I set +8 Temp adjust because auf that Expert Boards and same results with Smartguardian and Coretemp:
32G idle 43G 2700Mhz@1,4V and 46D 2800@1,4V.
Of course i set HTT Multi x3 so i won´t come over 1000Mhz
What the Hell can i try to get that damn :banana::banana::banana::banana: 12h primestable at 2800Mhz???
EDIT: Stepping is: CCBBE 0617FPMW with is known good and should probably make 2800 easy!
1.45-1.5v will be fine if core temp show <-60cQuote:
