it's running at 201 mhz, so thats probably the equivelent of a 133 divider.Quote:

Getting over that 3ghz hump on air is extremely rare ;) usually you need more volts than aircooling can handle.Quote:

AMD Opteron 175, boxed (JackHammer Dual-core) CCBWE 0550 UPMW
i will buy this Opteron, maybe its a good stepping and i can hit 2,9-3,0 gHz.....
what you mean...???
Hey y'all,
Been reading up quite a bit on these (and a few other) forums, and I must say that I've been bitten by the DC Opteron bug as well!
I'm currently stress-testing a 170 on my dad's rig (on an honestly poopy A8V-E SE), and his is a CCBWE 0534SPMW. It's running dual-Prime95 @ 2.20GHz, 1.35V at the moment, and I may just freeze the spec there because the board has already corrupted the WinXP install with a previous OC attempt (yesterday).
My rig is running the 165 referenced in the subject line (CCBBE 0616XPMW), which I got from TigerDirect, at a dual-P95 12+ hr. stable 2.70GHz @ 1.37V. The motherboard is my beloved ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe. The Opty is also running the stock cooler. I may push this jewel a tiny bit harder once I get my TJ09B (Silverstone Temjin) from work, where I had it delivered this week. (Too bad I got sick and couldn't get it by this weekend!) :D
Great procs, these dual-core Skt939 Opterons!
CCBWE steppings are usually bad for 2.9 - 3 G's. You will be lucky if a t least you hit 2.6 or 2.7 with very high voltages.... Refer to the first page for the database. Although its for 165's I think the stepping is the same for overclocking. Stay away from those. IMHO you'd be better by getting a CCBBE 165 (if your mobo can take high HTT speeds).Quote:

10 minutes golden so far. i maybe be able to hit 3ghz with this chip at 1.5 volts.
i hope anyway...

And yeah!! I see you're happy with your XPMW, I am too!! check my sig! Enjoy your Opty!! :toast:
some of those hit 3ghz on air, easier with water. it's a good stepping but there ARE bad ones. Good thing is, it's one of the best of the CCBWE series, and it can take some cold (other than CCB1E's and CCBBE's, they have huge coldbugs)Quote:

I'm on 24h stable 306x9 now and still searching a lame to remove ihs ^^
you would have found out alot quicker than 16 hours if you set your priority to 10.
just picked up a 165, this thing is incredible. Threw it in 10 minutes ago and its sitting at 3ghz, 333x9, 1ghz HT on 1.536v. I need to hook it up to the prommy...
Ill post pics once I've ran this little nukka to the limit.

I need some new ram though, this OCZ stuff I bought wont break 210mhz regardless of voltage or timings.Quote:

Max with all voltages @ auto (cpu=1,3v)
306x9 (ram divider @ 100 )

i wish the people who are reaching 2900-3000Mhz would show some more details like vcore, memory divider, memory settings in bios(if possible), vdimm, etc.. thanks.
I think DS/DDS is 8,1 becuse of Venus + 4x512mb(1,1 if i use 2x512mb)
If you want more settings then ask me :) , Vdimm is abit high for this low ram speed but i have it high for some testings..All settings are not tweaked yet.. waiting for some new 2x512mb bh5 sticks before i fix all things..(hope full i can run 166 divider instead of 150 divider on them then) 270mhz+ instead of 250mhz.
