I would appreciate it if you could double-check cold booting after pushing the FSB past 400. Dual-Prime, Orthos, and gaming are stable but my overclock is always reset on a cold boot. Unless POSTing is somehow more strenuous than those activities, this behavior doesn't make sense to me.

You will not have this cpu in good condition for a long time with that voltage on aircooling. Even with watercooling 1.7V in bios is too much IMO.

I thought similiar, at 3.4GHz CoreTemp was showing during certain Orthos passed 62-64C, this was with 1.4V set in bios...so i decided bumping the voltage higher was not worth an extra 200Mhz for 3.6GHz.

Of course I'm not running this 24/7 :p: was just done to get a cpuz validation and screen shot, call it a personal goal accomplished :cool:

I can relate to that. The reason I got watercooling for this is so I could reach the personal goal of 5ghz. I certainly wont run it there all the time though.

flashed to F8i, and still can't get over 473 FSB...does this bios fix the D9 issue?

Hi! I'm a new user.

I bought a DS3 2 months ago. RMA it after 2 week because FACE WIZARD (included in the MB software) destroyed my BIOS. LOL. Then I got a second one, that is running fine. I still haven't overclocked it because I have some issues, and I don't know if they are MB related.

I get sound stuttering when I click on a minimized window (and then it became maximized) :eek: and the sound stops if I try to read something from the DVD drive... I am using onboard audio (I wanted to buy an X-fi, but I read here that DS3 have some issues with it...).

Does anyone knows how I can fix those issues? I thought it could be my power supply... I got this one http://www.techsolo.com/product/powe..._550/index.php . I think 550W are enough for a DS3, E6600, 2 gigs of Corsair 667, 7900GT, 2 sata drives, 1 pata drive, floppy and DVD burner...

giuda...what is Face Wizard? I'm just now putting together a DS3/e6300 system and I dont see anything on the cd label like that.

All I've done so far is prep the mb for install, changing the NB cooler with Evercool twinkling copper cooler (put a slight bow in the pcb). S/B getting my SI 128 sometime today :)

I'm installing my X-Fi on this build I'll let you know what happens.

Using Ballistix DDR2 1000 as well <crosses fingers>

they already said it cant be fixed with a bios update so your gunna be waiting a really long time

I have X-Fi XtremeMusic and I haven't faced any problems (except driver problems, but oh, you can blame only creative for that), since I installed that card (about 1 month back). And the sound is really good, X-FI is just the best choice for soundcard.

Anyone know if the Ballistix DDR2 1000 has issues with this mobo? Just putting this together and have 30 days to return mobo or ram (or both lol).

Is the DS3 worth it for the money vs. performance?

no, the ds3 have no boot logo. Face Wizard is a program to put the logo

Guys, I have a problem. My computer is completely stable at 3600 Mhz, I found out. The only problem? Unlike at 3500 Mhz, apparently EIST and C1E seem to be causing the problem in the downclocked ... how can i make the board to at least supply enough voltaged with EIST and C1E on?
