well, the person who sold it to me ran it at 3 GHz at around 1.55v on water. not completely prime stable, but benchable. it seems these CCB1E's run hot as heck. my 0530tpmw did 2.7 @ 1.45v and would have same temps.

itznfb, you can add mine to the list: Opteron 165, CCBWE, 0551, UPMW, 1.55V, 2.575 GHz, XP-90 max prime stable.
Yup :) . Keep it under +50-48 loaded and it will hit 2.75GHz @ 1.40V Primestable , keep it under +42-45 and it will hit 2.8GHz @ 1.42V ;) , i know this chip - been playing with it for a long time :) Just get some Watercooling - it's worth it , you'l get at least +100MHz , those CCB1E's are too hot for aircooling :)Quote:

i was thinking of getting water cooling last week but chickened out with the idea of water around my baby :)
im reading up on water cooling and might build a custom kit next semester if i have any money left after paying off my student loans!
i'll post more results when i get my stronger fans. blows twice as much air as the stock BT cooler and got a second one for the case as well :woot:
For peace of mind (and just darn good practice), you can test for leaks with the mobo and everything else unplugged except for the waterpump and it won't matter if something leaks as long as you scrub off particulate and let it dry. You can do this by jumping the PSU with the whole water loop installed and let it run for at least 24 hours. Chances are if it doesn't leak in that period, it never will. Use spring clamps instead of the screw clamps and get good tubing instead of the cheap stuff from HomeDepot, should be set.Quote:

It might work even better with the more powerful fan because the added airflow won't be wasted in those gaps.
Opty CCB1E stepping > realy good :toast:
Bought an Opty 175, 2 months old and barely overclocked for £265 (they retail at £380 new), stepping CCBWE 0601UPMW.
Should get it before the weekend I expect, this is what the seller had to say about it:
So looks like it may be a decent clocker then with some voltage rammed up it's ***. Do you think 2.9ghz might be attainable with a Thermalright SI-120?Quote:

man, i was bidding on this CCB1E on ebay, my high bid was 355 , its at 435! right now. why pay that much? i'd rather take my chances on newegg and put the rest towards a good board or ram
hah, i just saw you said something about the auction. yea, man, who doesn't want it? but 355 was all it was worth to me...Quote:

Another Additional Comment:
I updated the database with the information posted last night, thanks for the responses. this is a database so its pretty easy to sort any which way. and if i knew php i would convert it to a mysql database so we could submit results and such online, view and sort however, but thats probably overkill anyway. the db is starting to get kinda big, and i don't think i'll be able to take screen shots of the whole thing soon.
Rats, I got an opteron to avoid. :(
Oh well, my goal for OCing on my new 170 is only 2.5-2.6ghz, so hopefully I should still be ok for that.
I have the CCBWE 0551UPMW, at stock w/ stock HSF. Should have the SI-120 & 120mm Delta fan next week.
Nice work itznfb, im sure someone on these forums could convert it to mysql if you wanted.
If it gets to big for one shot just take several and paste them together :D
That is what i thought. My 175 from newegg will be here today.Quote:

Still got more testing to do.
I quote myself (and update with bench/stable data) as maybe you missed my specs :)Quote:

we got a damn good list going here. i've added columns for; "load temp" and "prime stable". so if anyone wants to send updates, you can send small updates to me through private message if you want.
Specs for the database:
user name: periquitos
model: 170
stepping: CCBWE
date: 0530
packaging: TPMW
vcore: 1.28v
frequency: 2600
cooling: amd stock hs
coldbugged: don't know
lo, yep, went for $435, I was INSANELY lucky to get mine @ $350 :eek:Quote:

hmm...tempted to bend the fins. is that the BT with the fan removed? is there any special precautions or equipment i should use to bend these fins? i really dont want to break anything.......then again...it would give me an excuse to move to water cooling. lol. jk
@itznfb
i sent you a pm with some updated results. thanks.
The problem is that AMD steppings are mixed so you have 50% of getting burned. The next time I buy, I'm definitely making sure I know the stepping before I get the chip.Quote:

Great list itznfb.
Just popped the IHS of my 170 CCB1E 0609 FPAW
http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/6...dp8m9yh.th.jpg
With IHS 2.92 Ghz
Without IHS 3.0ghz is dual prime small FFTs stable only 30 min.:slapass:
I`m gonna ad another rad this weekend to keep loadtemp below 45C.
Hope it makes things stable, cause increasing vcore to 1.55 doesnt help
What's the temperature difference? I'm probably going to remount my IHS soon with AS5 so it doesn't die when it's 30C ambient.Quote:

Okay, so I'm stuck between a few choices here. Either a 170 or 175 from the Egg. Which would you guys choose?
I just want something that will hit 2.8 for sure.
I think newegg ha sbeen shipping 0550UPMWs, worth a shot. (170)
