if not its time to fromat and start over again for the umptenth time or pull the XpPro HD from old pc and just run it and forget about vista for now.

I´ve got a problem with my M3A32-MVP Deluxe and Phenom 9850 BE
I have got 2x 1 OCZ Reaper PC9200, and they do not want to run 1066 Mhz, there´s always a freeze, before the System boot up.
I can do what I want, the system do not want to boot up when DDR2 1066 is selected. :(
I can choose any timings I want, they do not want to boot up.
I´ve got the 1101 BIOS
Anyone can help me ?
What voltage do you have set for the ram?
You need such a high voltage because of Vista64. There is a timing/syncronisation(?) problem with the Phenom and this OS (only Vista64, XP/XP64/Vista32 are fine). AMD and MS are in knowledge of this problem. If there will be a fix no one knows.Quote:

Just wondering but does anyone actually know what all got changed for bios 1101? I'm only wondering because I'm able to lower the voltage for 3ghz/2.4ghz to 1.325 for both of them it seems at least for now. Other than that I have no clue to any other differences I'll find cause I just flashed it about 15 min ago.
Edit: Oh and it seemed to bump up my multicore efficiency in cinebench, before I was normally at 3.54 speedup, the last run was 3.59 with the new bios.

was in windows for awhile nothing major but was a little greedy trying 1.2v lol 1.3v now

ok im back have vista reloaaded with the vista tweaks i spoke of and cpu running 3ghz @ 1.45v didnt try to lower becuae well i dont want to foramt again.
NB @ 2.4ghz 1.4v HT @ 2ghz ram @ 1066 unganged 5-5-5-15-19 :) . idle is 45c-46c full load 54-55c.
the vista tweaks maybe some of you know of maybe some of you dont. turn off TMM and the other mobile-pc settings in vista and also turn off UAC. seems vista runs much better this way. the mobile settings make for a much longer boot time seeking multi monitors on boot and the other mobil setting is for turning on pre-set programs from sleep mode. worthless to me in a desktop enviroment. i also have the power setting set to performance. dont need sleep mode.
if your running a creative card after you update all the software and drivers goto msconfig start up tab and uncheck the dllml.exe. usualy 2 of them in start up that are not needed in start up. you will not loose any feature of your soundcard.
i can post and get into bios @ 3.4 ghz @ 1.3v. what is keeping it from getting into vista64???
i think im going to try to run memtest at that speed tonight. just to see if it will run at that speed/volts aswell.
I found another change, if you have a rev B2 chip in the option got changed to TLB Fix so it was more easily understandable. Still wish they would get the memory timings page more readable instead of having a screwed up order. I wonder if you can set different timings for the seperate memory channels in unganged... Oh and I put my 9600 back in cause I haven't put it in since I took the vapo off.
Edit: 11.5x260 @ 1.3v/1.325v. 33C Idle, 41C Load. Load is measured running World Community Grid and Rosetta@Home on all 4 cores. I love this processor... even if it is only a B2 rev...
Just so you guys all know, EZ flash will NOT work with the 1101 bios. It will reboot as it loads so you'll have to do the boot disk or through windows.

No matter what i do no matter how i set the ram, No matter what ram ive used (probly spent over 600 bucks just getting differnt brands and sizes) ive bought a new 9850, Same results Still Stuck at 2.7. Hard lock soon as i touch 2.7. I guess my last bastion of hope would be to RMA the board or just buy a new one... But for now. I quit.
I don't think it is your board... some 9850's hit 3.0 no problems (same MoBo), I can get mine to 3 at stock voltages (again, I am using same MoBo), others are seeing limits of 2.7 to 2.8 G ... I did a quick count of the reviews that overclocked the 9850, about 1/3 of them hit 3.0 GHz, the rest topped out around 2.8 GHz, though most reviewers do not take extra time and care to really give it the best effort.Quote:

here something interesting i found this weekend.
if i put ram on 1066 ganged. instead of unganged. i can boot up @ 3ghz @ 1.33v. it will actualy boot up at even lower volts @ 3ghz but im trying here for now. will lower it once i feel this setting is stable. 42c idle and 48c load. :)
Edit: uping the volts 1 setting at a time. that low is not stable @ 3ghz. but still interesting seing how it would not even get into windows with this low of a voltage with unganged setting. 1.375v seems to be the sweet spot so far. im also testing with lower ther ht to 1.8/x9 wich makes cpu run cooler slightly and i dont see any difference in the benchmark scores.
Unganged is just alot harder on the chip to do, most voltage increases are due to the memory controller anyway. Think about why you can't overclock in 1066 unganged mode but if you set it back to ganged it clocks like a dream. Then check the difference between overclocking in 1066 vs like 533. Should overclock slightly more because the memory controller has less to worry about. Same thing will happen with 2x512mb sticks instead of 2x1gb sticks because there is less memory to address.
