took a chance and bought a new 165 at newegg and i got a CCBBE 0610 DPMW! what sucks though is im in iraq and wont get to mess with it till i go home on R&R in march :mad: but im looking forward to seeing what she can do. thats a heckuva improvement over my CCBWE 0551 WPMW

@Danylo it's the same stepping i got man, you got yourself a king overclocker,.. mine does 2.9 stock voltage and 3.150GHz at 1.58v :)
don't ease up on her, just try 334x9 at the 150 divider and let it rip.

it seems ur RAM is ur limitation. I have mine 165 running at @2.8ghz with Corsair RAM using CAS2-3-3-6 and 1T.

these opterons 165 will usually outrun most RAM modules :)
if you want high HTT lower those dividers! cpu MHz is king.

thus it is very good processor but with 4 modules of memory much is pressed and reduced its capacity of overclocking. in addition with 4 modules to memory with it initiates to 1t

in addition he is not best mainboard for 4 modules

3GHz on 1.50v. Unless Im missing something thats its lot.Will not do 3033MHz on 1.55v which is as far as im going.Have tried dividers,ldt voltage,chipset voltage cpc settings etc.

I will do it with 166 divider when i get my new 2x512 bh5 gold sticks(276mhz+ (4x512mb 2-2-2-X).

the truth is that in motherboars DFi if and managed to surpass the 275 with 4 memories TCCD before and in this plate mother tapeworm tccd and 250 top to mhz 4 memories. but no longer use tccd so that I do not like. 5 pairs of these memories of different marks died to me ocz. Gskill. to corsair. samsung of all ways with your post and animated to see if profit to me something but

Actually it's not that bad. Most Opty's need between 1.50 and 1.55 vcore to reach 3.0 ghz (check database @ first page). Mine needs 1.525, I'm on water so temps are not bad at all. Some people, with a lot of luck (stepping lottery :p: ) can reach stable 3.0 ghz at 1.47 - 1.48 , but those are very, very rare.

My Opty 170 needs 1.6v for a solid 3G but Im on water also so its not really an issue. CCBWE-0550-UPMW

Just waiting for a spare week then will try it under the Prommie.Hoping cold bug doesnt kick in to early if at all.

April

Finally got my opty 170 ccbbe 0615 epmw stable at 3.06ghz. Been running prime for 10 hours at 1.5v. It needs 1.62v to run 3.1ghz which is to much for me, and my ram can't follow and I don't want to use a divider any lower than 166, so I'll keep it at 306x10. Temps are 41/38 according to core temp.
