Well, I was running my VTT at 1.603V to be stable at 455MHz with a Q9450 but after I read that you'll kill a 45nm CPU quite fast when you run the VTT that high I lowered it to 1.438V and my best stable FSB is now 440MHz. :(

My Q6600 GO needs:
1.424V VVT for 3.7Ghz
1.440V VVT for 3.8Ghz
It wouldnt even need extremely OC knowledge to assume that 1.6 is surely a dangerous voltage...maybe those guys at the AT review used hardcore water-cooling..but from my months and months of reading about this board and overclocking G0 i never saw any similar high VTTs mentioned as requirement. And i mean i have proof here running 444 at 1.42...so something cannot be right with that AT article.
The other thing, that clunk GTL ref chart now is totally above my head since i have no idea how he got those values when all other reviews tests mention values like 99,98,96.....and the clunk chart is the only one with very, very high GTL Ref values w/o explanation how he gets them. Eg. "130" <-???
G.
You're right about that. I tried using the GTL values from the AT review of the DFI LT P35-T2R with my X38-T2R and Q9450 but couldn't even boot windows with the same clocks that would run quite ok with GTLs disabled.
Just today I began trying a little with GTLs again and set them to 75 75 80 and I got Supreme Commander that would crash every time when loading a savegame to play nicely for 30mins before I had to get to work. :)
Currently running at 440x8 with CPU VID 1.45V, CPU VTT 1.438V, NB 1.677V, DDR2 2.10V.
Is it true that I may monitor RPM and adjust speed for only 3 fans: CPU, NB and chassis?!
I can't believe in it
Also, is there any option to shutdown PC if RPM will be low? I can't find this option too, only shutdown if CPU temp above smth.
Hi guys,
finally got all my hardware in and plugged it all in.. However, Im getting that dreaded C1 Error. I'm using twin Cellshock pc2-6400, CS2221041 ram modules. Tried both of them, tried every one single in the different slots, cleaning the CMOS, removing the battery.. still C1
My question would be, can you tell me some cheapo RAM module/s (dont really care if its only 1 stick) that are known to run with no problems? I guess if I once manage to boot and set vdimm and timings, I should be able to run the Cellshock just fine..
thanks :X really frustrating :(
Nick
It's not necessarily cheap, but my G. Skill 2GBHZ boot up fine with this mobo.

I cant even get that to work. How do you?
Question all. I have been using this board for a few months now, and all has been, well OK. First off, mine doesnt play nice with my E3110. No matter what I do it wont go over 4.0GHZ. Put that aside temps are great.
I put my old X3210 G0 in today, to see what she can do in this board. So far, 3.6GHZ stable at 1.36V. NICE. However, my Mosfet temps SKYROCKETED. They I am running the same FSB, NBv, and such, but I was getting 46 MAX with the dualcore, and now it hit over 86 before I stoped stressing. I touched to see if maybe it was a wonky sensor, and nearly burnt myself it was so hot! Anyone have a theory as to why a simple CPU change has resulted in such unhappy Mosfets?!?!
I think I got a darn good G0.... 2.13 stock, 3.6GHZ 1.36V, 1.21 VTT. Default GTLs
quads take more amps than duals so the pwm pushes more current hence its hotter
Talk about smokin hot. How on earth am I going to mount a fan to cool that......
Anyone know of some Mosfet blocks for the X38 DFI? If not waterblock, then something else?
i got an itch to get a new videocard
lookin for the one that plays nice on this board
8800gt or 3870 n which brand ?ps i boycot visiontek n gigabut
9800GTX dood! EVGA of course. Seen them as low as $309
did u see the 3850 x2, u can get that for $300 on newegg
its an asus though and u dont like gigabyte and asus owns gigabyte
what do u mean? those 3 connectors work fine, but it's not enough (note that cpu fan required 4pin). so in fact i have only 2 connectors for adjusting and monitoring, and one more only for monitoring.Quote:

I know only MIPS waterblock, have it ordered already
Yes we are on the verge of getting them next week:

My 2 HIS 3870's bench real good on this board. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9366055
Are you looking to bench or game?
9800 GTX = $279:up:

Edit: ooops, this is for Newegg. ;-)
Thanks a lot for the tips guys, got my new rig up and running :D. Some mild overclocks atm, everything nice and cool, waiting on my TRUE to play a bit more :). Gotta get some cooling for the RAM as well, a bit afraid to clock them higher without some considerable airflow above them. My previous ddr1 (:) ) never ever got so hot :x
I kinda like the 9800gtx, its really quiet and cool.. No idea about the 8800gt's tho, never owned one.
