hey guys. just wondering what the final verdict is on the an8 fatal1ty. i just sold my k8n neo2 plat. to go to pci-e and nforce4. from what ive read of this review it looks good to me. would my money be well spent on the fatal1ty, or is there a better o'cl:banana::banana::banana::banana:ing board out. i really love abit and love all thier products ive owned in the past and present.
If your gonna run high fsb and want to run bh5 high then no however if you plan on using memory that doesn't require over 2.8 vddr then fatality seems to be the most stable/overclocking rig out there that works out of the box.

i have a gig of pqi turbo platinum pc3200 (tccd chips)..... so it sounds like its a go then.
yeah, its not a bad board, just not good for BH-5, but TCCD should work well. Alittle over priced IMO (unless the price has dropped from 200)

My buddy and I just tried the Abit Fatality in his rig. It does fine for low and modest overclocks, but it couldn't keep up with the DFI NF4 Ultra he had in there. He is switching back to the DFI.
Again, not that it makes the Abit a bad mobo...just that the DFI has much more OC potential.
As far as memory I will agree however I've had a cbbid 0502 crap OC'er to 385ht on that board stable........Quote:

The High HT isn't really impressive however it was done at default volts cept for cpu and ddr and i doubt any of you have a need to run at or above 385 HT.
Also your buddy might want compare performance versus speed cuz at the end of the day its scores that matter not how high you can go as shown here.

Honestly the otes ramflow is useless the rear otes mosfet fans are far more efficient than the ramflow ones. Maybe due to the fact that the ramflow ones operate at 4000rpm and rear exhaust runs at 5500 full speed.
I'm thinking of just removing the ram flow anyway. Good air circulation in case will probably do better than the ramflow does but it looks cool....

wow with sli, theres no room for even a sound card. This is nuts, I cant allow myself to use the crappy onboard sound even if the graphics will be awesome. Nope, so SLI for me

well..... the purchase of this mobo fell through cause i had probs with getting amazon to accept Paypals virtual credit card. anyhow, i still havent purchased a board yet and have been pondering it some more. the fatal1ty just seems too expensive for its lack of features. would i be just as good with getting the vanilla an8 and saving some $$$? i think i have it narrowed down to the an8 or the dfi. id like to have features of the dfi..... but in the end o'clocking performance is the most important thing.Quote:
