Since the rumour said it has a 25-40% increase over the previous generation then it ties in perfectly with the 4870x2 comparison.

Put simply, this card should be as powerful as the GTX295 and then some ...with none of the scaling hangups.

Hopefully if everything ties in to what this post says ...then I think we've met the new 8800Ultra - a card that will play anything maxed for a few years.

Its a nice "to have" feature, but seriously who gona spend that much money on monitors?

My monitor was 500€ and is only a MVA Panels (Lenovo L220x), and my next monitor will defenitly will be a a IPS panel (of theres no better alternative) and that one costs ~700€ a piece (NEC 2490WUXi²).

Only two of those will be 1400€--- and six gona cost 4200€ :shocked:

Well judging by what resolution they used for those games on 6 LCDs, I think it's pretty obvious that performance is awesome.

3 30" at max res = 12mp, 6 30" at max = 24mp, btw ati claims 268mp possible.

4 cards x 6 outputs each = 24 possible monitors, not 14 :p:

There be more options now when the tech is on.
one option I think of os to get cheap TN Panels for sidewiev and use the better one in the middle.

Interesting times tho for gaming.

Now, where is the card so i can buy it ;)

Next monitor thing for me from my 200$ 1920x1200 24" TN panel is a 20" oled 1920x1200

Would be awesome, but I want performance numbers...not just for the 5xxx series, but for the gt3xx series as well.

I thought nVidia had an event of their own. No one seems to care.. but I tried to look it up..
All I found was that they're gonna rebrand G210 to GT310, GT220 to GT320 and GT240 to GT330..
Nothing about GTX380 or GTX360.. seems like they're really into rebranding old stuff..

As for the 6 monitor set-up,it looks nice but even with Samsung's thin bezel LCD's the bezel is still very annoying.

Hell yeah. A few years ago at the E3 Convention the U.S. Military had a "Tent" setup with a full 300' surround screen playing their own custom version of America's Army. The setup also included a real Army H1 Hummer on pneumatic actuators that "players" rode in while using either an M4 Carbine, Browning .50cal machine gun, or you could be the driver (armed as well). The weapons actually had a (less than accurate) recoil system, making the firearm kick when fired, and the whole hummer moved all around like you were on some sh*tty road in Baghdad. Definitely good times.

Edit: This was a pretty sweet 20m diameter 360' screen they had there.

That's true. And those hoping that it will only be 25-40% more then a 4870 are going to be disappointed too.

That's why we need actual benchmarks so we can see the reality rather then the rumor. I'm quite disappointed in AMD that they decided not to show benchmarks today.

lol i couldnt notice the difference side by side with my dad ips panel 22" and my tn samsung 22" :confused: just his had better view angles, but im just sat infron of my monitor all the time so its fine :D

No, it won't DEFINITELY be anything until we get the cards in our hands and get to experiment for ourselves. It is PROBABLY good if these rumors turn out to be true, but rumors are no guarantee of greatness.

If anythong you should use the TNs in front few, since the have no color degration when views frontal.

But mixing panels is a pain in the arse, different gray to gray switchtimes, and different latencies (which the gfx can do nothing about).

If you want so much monitors, they have to be from the same type. Especial for gaming. Where latencies are critical.
