For anyone thats upgraded from an E6600 or similar, do these E7200's run any hotter?
My E6600 @ default voltage @ 3.0ghz idled at 30C, load of 40C
With this E7200 its idle of 32C and load of 42C.
This is with Real Temp, latest ver.
Im on water with a D-Tek Fuzion. Also I live in florida, ambient is pretty high, 82F or so.
Has anyone experienced a FSB wall at around 370 fsb? What settings other than NB voltage, CPU voltage, memory voltage, and FSB strap can help get past this? My e7200 will run 3.467 (9.5x365) ghz, but I would like to drop the multiplier and run it at 400 fsb.

I have tried up to 1.4 on both the cpu and NB. The NB is passively cooled and I am using air cooling with a Ultra 120 on the cpu so I don't want to go much higher on either of those. I have used the same settings you are listing below, and have also tried using a FSB strap of 400 as opposed to auto. I guess it's possible I just got a poor chip for overclocking. I have heard that some e7200s take around 1.45v to hit 4ghz and higher. For gaming with a single HD4850 going higher than 9.5x333 (3.16 ghz) probably doesn't give much a of a performance increase anyways, and I can run that speed at stock voltage.

I had hit a wall at 370FSB and higher on the evga 750i FTW motherboard. This issue was resolved later on with a BIOS upgrade.
Also I got a Q81 batch and I need 1.488V to hit 4.11ghz. Seems like a bad overclocker :(

From what I have read on some other boards, and from a few posts here, some of the e7200s take relatively high voltages (1.45+) to hit the 3.6 - 4.0+ ghz range. I guess that is what you get when you buy a budget processor. It's all the luck of the draw.
It's true, in my case though. I can OC my E7200 to 3.0Ghz with just AUTO value of the voltage(or 1.28v in BIOS actually) with my budget mobo Asus P5K-SE very easy. In my case a 365 fsb is the highest value with nominal voltage used, 370 fsb and up-the vcore needed is i think is too high.
First factor i had in mind could be my mobo, it had an insane vdroop:down:, i think i'm going to mod it. The second factor could be my E7200, maybe i've got a bad clocking chip here, btw the FPO/batch is #: Q815A472.
Right now i'm running at 3.467Ghz at 1.37v in BIOS, Cpu-Z and OCCT both reads the voltage at 1.344. My mobo vdroops during OCCT tests, the voltage falls down to a mere 1.3v only-vdroops are really annoying:shakes:. I will chase 3.6Ghz or higher once i'm done vdroop modding my mobo.

^ I'm afraid the problem is your proc., i've seen lot of bad clocker E7200 chips around here, which sadly, includes mine too:shrug:. You've got yourself a good mobo, its already a P45:up:.

For the record on the 'official' E7200 thread:
Cpu Frequency with this setup is 3.85GHz, SuperPI 1M times around 13.4 sec - I think very low 13's or even lower is possible once I get the memory fully sorted out. The chip is stable to about 3.944 with same voltage shown below on both P5K and P5Q-E.

Do you guys think that 1.408 on cpu-z is too much for this cpu? (I setted around 1.45 V at bios)
It looks stable at 3.7 GHz with this voltage, and only reaches 52ēC (core) @ 100% load...
hmmm guys i read lot of forums they said that the 45nmn limited voltage is 1.45v...is in the bios that to go far from 1.45v or in windows?? i wanna make think clear out thinks :(

If you mean to ask whether 1.45v is a BIOS limit, it isn't. Many people are going with Intel's spec and trying to keep around 1.4v or under for 24/7 use. If you're asking whether there's a difference between BIOS vcore values and what the vcore is in Windows, yes there's a difference. What you set isn't what the chip actually gets.
I got an Q815A300 and it looks like I'm topping out at 405×9.5 :( Board is an Asus P5E-VM HDMI, might try dropping the 0.5 and pushing the FSB higher. Looks like a lot of the better overclockers were <Q810 ish.
