Good job, everyone!
Congrats on your golden batch chip, radaja! Took you a while to get one, eh? :D
Where on earth did you find a batch like that?! :D I'd have thought they'd all be long gone by now...
Thanks
well this is my fourth golden 920,and ive been trying to match my first one ever since i sold it.
it was another 3849B018 and i sold it only after playing with it for about 2 weeks and i didnt know
much about i7's then.it was and still is the best one for low volts ive seen.this one is close but still not the same:D
i got it from someone at ocn who is also a great wellknown XS's member:up:

nickless,very nice:up:
thats the batch i wanted.hows the IMC on your cpu?
my new one is great at low vcore OC.s but seems to have
a crappy IMC.cant seem to run ddr3-2000:down:
Tank's, your CPU is very nice too. I haven't tested yet, because I have it only from two days and the settings of the mobo now are completely different compare to previous CPU. First aim was Intel 4.5GHz LinX Stable Club :D. Now come the other tests :).
First recent batch #30XX... i7 950 I've seen in the LinX 4.5 GHZ club (on air too.)
Very nice early batch 3849Bxxx i7 950... I think that is one of the lowest bloomfield vcore (u/water) I've seen for 4.5GHz.
I noticed that the link states 4C/4T but the screenshot shows 4C/8T.
The OP should be up to date!
Welcome to the new members! :)
Wiener that is epic vcore. Congrats on that CPU.

I may not be able to pass LinX at 4.5Ghz with both CPUs (unfortunately, my 2nd CPU is a bit of a dog - 1st one can do 4,5 @ 1,38V) but I can still own you guys via Gflop rating :wasntme:
By the way, I still get higher Gflops rating AND CPU core temps when running only 12 threads (despite having HT on). I am using the latest linpack libraries.
Is this still the case for single socket Hexas? Or do you get higher temps by running on all Threads there? Thanks :)
I get higher temps and lower performance with HT on.

Hi guys, been out of the overclocking game for a while now and I'm working at getting my e8600 stable at 4.5 again. For some reason it doesn't seem to do it at the same settings I used to have (If my memory serves me well). I've gotten to 20+ mins in linx before I manually stop it now but I'm getting worrying temps, 80c at 4.5Ghz, 1.4v with watercooling. Is this normal or should I be concerned? I never remember it running this hot

Very nice, C-N! Good job!
Is that really 1.5V on air?
Btw, I'll be away for the weekend, expect me to update the OP on Monday. :)
zalbard, can you update the LinX link? Intel updated their Linpack library (10.3.0.003).

Hey better late than never
Got my I7 920 @ to 4515 . . . HT off at 7 7 7 20 rock solid stable . . .
will continue to tweak a bit over next few weeks

Yup 1.5v on air :D
Have a great weekend.
My Giga runs with way less core but far more heat, I was going to mention this on the Giga thread but it appears to me the Giga pumps a lot of current into the chip to keep the vcore down where as this DFI doesnt hence needing more vcore. This same chip came out of my Giga with light brown scorch marks on the under side of the chip!!!! I would suggest anyone running 4.5GHz on the Giga check there chips before its to late!!!
Update... I also have a 950 that run high speed in the Giga & it also has some marks but not quite as large as the 930 see pic.
.
wow those burn marks are scary , what giga where you running with what voltage the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R ?Quote:

Dont get me wrong the Giga is a great board especially at the price & used about 4~4.2GHz im sure it'll run forever but that scorching aint good. My Giga is a v2 maybe it has a later x58 i dont know maybe its a v2 thing. I heard the vtt droops bad on the Giga havent tested it but the DFI runs way less vtt for way more uncore.
.
I've ran my D0's at 4.4Ghz at 1.425V and 4.5Ghz and 1.50V 24/7 on two Giga boards, UD4P and UD7 for quite a long time and i've never seen any scorch marks on any of my chips. You sure it's a scorch mark and not some oily stuff ie thermal paste or somethin?
Thanks Radaja . .nice to be here " wow " wheres the champagne room lol . . . ok now you Sergio and OC nub gotta stop forcing me to push my machine to these crazy levels of the overlock lmao :woot:Quote:
congratulations,your in the club
good luck with the tweaking and have fun

What's the vcore needed for that Sandy to do five gees with HT on? Heat doesn't seem to be limiting factor from what i can see.
C_N,
I see, that sucks man be careful :D
with SMT on +0,03v :)
btw cooled with water @ ~20°C room temp.
Wow that sandybridge is nice! Why blur the bclk and then include the ram speed and ram mulitplier though? I mean assuming it's reporting correctly we can see it's 133 :P Can't wait to get one of those.
and 133 is wrong :D
Whats the max at 1.4v with 4c/8t?
My first attempt, temp were too high for me, think i can get the vcore down.

as far as gigabyte pushing more current goes, dynamic current step is 100 amps from 45 to 1.45 just fro the cores, then you have 35 more amps for uncore, well that comes to a whopping 180 amps, after the dynamic current step the voltage droops, these numbers are from VRD 11.1 spec which define vdroop and well it explains how lower voltage and higher current is how these chips were designed. Of course gigabyte probably runs out of spec, right... I have never seen those marks on my cpus nor anyone else.
I'm still trying to get to the bottom of my issue & at the moment im leaning towards PSU rather than board. I just noticed yesterday that the 12v line is running 13v so maybe this is compounding the situation on the Giga.
Its just strange that I have run lots of chips on lots of boards with the same PSU & the only board that marks the chips is the UD3 Rev 2.
.
[QUOTE=Chri$ch;4635098]only a short test.... :wasntme: :D
Chri$ch, are you running the latest Linpack 10.3? Seems your running on just SSE no AVX. Would hope to see 130GFlops with that setup at 5GHz.
OT: I've just updated the distributive of LinX with the updated libraries (10.2.6.015 -> 10.3.0.003) in the OP.
update, changed airflow in system and got vcore slightly down, temps are way improved

These are the setting i used for the test, im using corsair dom GTs 2000mhz 8-9-8-24, its running at around 1720 mhz, possibly could get it to run at 2150 if i bump up the qpi and ram voltage
Wow....excellent CPU xdave.....what batch?
Ok, I just completed a Linx run (20) with updated Linpack libraries dated:
Monday September 27, 2010. The Gflops went down compared to IBT. Disregard the clockspeed and multiplier becaues I have C States and Speedstep enabled. The actual clockspeed is 158.51 x 29 = 4596.96 ghz. I am going to try lowering the multiplier and use a higher blck.

I've missed this thing :hitself:.
Thank's.
Can I join the club? All other voltages are exactly the same as previously posted. The processor was bought at Microcenter in Bethesda Maryland. I think they have 4 or 5 left. I am not sure if they are they same batch and pack date.

congrats serg! will try with my xeon :D
Great run Sergio, congrats :D.

Congrats Sergio, good to see you pass 20.

didnt check load on vcore, but since i had a hard lock on cod4 so i bumped the vcore upto 1.3250v and now everything is ok, yes LLC is 100%
