hello my friends !!
my CPU :Quad QX9650 Extreme and i think Rampage extreme(i plan to buy) is best mobo for him.
I need advice and please recommend the best ram today. is this the best?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145266
Capacity 4GB (2 x 2GB)
Speed DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)
Cas Latency 8
Timing 8-8-8-24
Voltage 1.65V
550W PSU is enough ?
tks for any help!
It might be a decent combination, the Gigabyte DDR3 P45 boards aren't the best performers ram wise either, especially with quads.
Since you will have an unlocked CPU, and it will top out around 4 GHz with decent voltage (~1.45 vcore) you could feasibly run 400 x 10 for 4GHz, and run the ram on the 1:2 divider for DDR3-1600 MHz and it should have no problems whatsoever. Lots of ram types will do DDR3-1600 MHz so if thats what you are happy with, you have a lot of choice.
However running DDR3-2000 MHz on a Rampage Extreme with a quad is just not going to happen.
ty for answers!
for now,
1. rex will be limited with 2x2 ram (is better 4x1 ?)
2. Gigabyte DDR3 P45 boards aren't the best performers (best mobo for Quad QX9650 Extreme ? X48 or P45 ?)
3. running DDR3-2000 MHz on a Rampage Extreme with a quad is just not going to happen.( so is better DDR3-1600 MHz with 6 CAS then 2000Mhz with 8 CAS; just for my quad)
my cpu is unlocked and i use air cooling and 24/7.
pls help.
Just a heads up since you want to use Dominator GT memory. Be careful when using them on the REX, don't enable XMP profiles, this will increase your vPLL and vtt to crazy high values that will kill your CPU rather fast. I read some horror stories on German forums.
tks to all
best board : Gigabyte P45 UD3P "400 x 10 & DDR3-1600 MHz is probably your best bet"
and 4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets
and best DDR3: Team_Xtreem 4GB (2x2GB) /1600MHz /6-7-6-18 /1.65V
http://www.teamgroup.com.tw/teamgrou...id=1&pl2_id=59
but CAS 6-7-6-18 only with XMP support ?
and have this req:
• Intel platform
Core i7 860,Core i5 750
ASUS :P7P55 Deluxe
GIGABYTE:GA-P55-UD4P, GA-P55-UD5
MSI:P55-GD80
i think is only for P55 :(
Nah it's just marketing. They will probably run fine on the REX, but I'm not sure 100% as I've never used that particular kit. My Corsair Dominator GT 1866C7's are 'designed for i7/X58' but I have no troubles using just 2 sticks of the 3 in the kit on my REX.
The DDR3 version is the P45T-UD3P
Avoid P45 and DDR3 mate... the boards only work at decent ram speeds with a limited number of ram types... just buy a P45 DDR2 version for best FSB clocks.
The REX will do 400-450FSB dead easy with a quad... with 2GB dimms stay sub 1950Mhz for easy tweaking... the closer you get to 2000Mhz the harder she is to stabilise...Just buy rams that can do 1800Mhz to have some headroom... preferably low voltage ones
ths again for the tips but i am so confused..
you can nominate for my quad? best combo for mobo and ddr2 with ? I want to run 4GHz or closer...Asus Maximus II Gene is ok?Quote:
just buy a P45 DDR2 version for best FSB clocks.
i am realy confused..what must i buy ?Quote:
Just buy rams that can do 1800Mhz to have some headroom
For high FSB clocks = +475FSB and more : P45 with DDR2 ---> Best mobo's : Gigabyte P45-UD3P and DFI P45 (need to look up exact name)
DDR2 rams go with 1066Mhz rams Cas 5...
For Use with DDR3 = you can try the Rampage Extreme but limit yourself to 450FSB max for daily use ( as it will be doable at acceptable CPU VTT and NB voltages ), I've benched on the REX with +500FSB but CPU VTT and NB Voltages were set at insanely high settings ( 1.7NB voltage, CPU VTT 1.55 )
For the DDR3 rams go with Low Voltage 2Gb dimms ( foreseen to be used in future I5/7 rigs) wich are able to do eg 1800mhz ( as this would be the ideal ram speed to be used when running eg FSB 450 ) eg Gskill Ripjaws PC1600C9 or Corsair Dom PC14400C8,...
I haven't run the REX with 4 dimms, but I would never do that anyway...just stick with 2 dimms...
so, as I said, for 4Gz on Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Rev C0 with air cooling :
best for ddr2 is P45 :Gigabyte P45-UD3P and DFI P45 (pls tell exact name) @ DDR2 (2x2) 1066Mhz Cas 5
best for ddr3 is X48 :REX @ Corsair Dom PC14400 C8
and best of dd2 and ddr3 is ?
what are your intentions Beginer1 ? Setup a daily gaming rig ? or A bench rig ? If it's for a daily platform don't waste cash on Uber ram. You won't feel the difference between C7 or9, nor between running rams at 1600mhz or 2000mhz... it's all in between ya ears !! and like said runnign 2000mhz with hyper rams is a no no, unless you love to tweak and mess hours in the bios and liek to watch days of Memtest to get it stable...
you forgot to say exact name.Quote:
DFI P45 (need to look up exact name)
for daily use and games.just tell me ddr2 or 3 and i go now to buy.pls nominate.
Depends on your budget and what you want really. You essentially have narrowed it down to 2 choices:
1)Gigabyte P45 UD3P + 4GB DDR2-1066
2)Rampage Extreme + 4GB DDR3-1600
The choice is yours, for daily use I doubt you could tell the difference between the 2 setups, so just get what you are most comfortable with or is the cheapest.
tks guys for all help, my choice is:
Bus 400 x multiplier 10 for 4GHz, and the ram on the 1:2 divider for DDR2-1066 MHz is corect?Quote:
Gigabyte P45 UD3P + 4GB DDR2-1066
Rated FSB must be only 1333?
No, at 400 FSB using a 1:2 divider, you get 1600 MHz as I said earlier, not 1066 MHz. You can only run the 1:2 divider at 400 FSB using a DDR3 board.
Don't worry about that for now you'll figure it out later on.
When you get your P454 UD3P and ram, post on the UD3P thread and the guys there will help you sort out the best settings
tks, but Gigabyte P45 UD3P (same for P45T) is out of stock in my country, and ddr2 1033= ddr3 1600 same money >> i think i need a P45 ddr3 mobo : Asus P5Q3
I'm still on 775 and I don't wanna go away from this socket
Now I have for some testing RE and I play with my 2 x 2GB A-Data 2000 ; with my daily setup this ram is clocking at 1600 CL6-8-6-16 ( some times 14;) ), but on this mobo A-Data can hmm fly ?
For cold water bench I use 1900 at the same timings ( CL6 ... ) , now I prepare some di bench, and I wanna test, how muoch this ram can go ...
Now I have this, I know this is only 32M spi, but some stable settings is here ;) Not bad for a 2 x 2GB CL7 kit on X48

Nice work, I had some fun with Elpida Hypers & REX also Here I got very close to sub 11mins at just under 4GHz with that setup.
Should be able to hit ~DDR3-1820 @ CL6 and DDR3-2000 CL7 for SPI32M, might take a little more than rated voltage though.
P45 DDR3 boards are difficult to get stable. Many people who had the P5Q3 board sold it as it was very difficult to work with. Not many people have had much luck with the EP45T either.
If you want one of either, you're best to post in the board threads to get some advice from those who use them.

my result...
I say more,that board is s...cks:down: I sold than board after 3 days.430FSB was max stable.Quote:
