I get most of my parts from Komplett. They have almost everything you can ask for in computer parts. There are a few things here and there that they dont have but can be found elsewhere though.
[EDIT] I wonder if Gigabyte is after forgetting the EX38-DS4 bios (Including beta) because they havent been updated in a while. Ive noticed that after over 36 hours of my machine being powered on and running it gets slow and slightly unresponsive with the mouse being slow too. Maybe I have a worse latency problem than I think. Ill get a latency reading after a few hours of my machine running and email it to Gigabyte.
I've updated the BIOS to version 9b and it also solved my latency issue. Of course, this means no more overclock. :(
Well thats good news...but you say F9b is mute as i can't O/C either.
Where did you guys get F9b?
I'm going to flash my bios to F3, i'm currently using F1. Is it OK to go from F1 to F3?
Also, if i want to use a USB stick to load the bios on, using Qflash, its there anything i need to do to it?
Just download the bios from the Gigabyte website, it's wise to have the USB flash drive formatted to FAT32 (i'd also check the flash drive for any errors or bad sectors just in case)...in Q-Flash it'll show up as HDD 3.0 (depending on what hard drives you have installed), highlight it and press Enter, you'll see an error message, ignore and press Enter a second time. The contents of the USB drives files will be displayed...locate the bios file (make SURE you have the correct bios for your mobo "x38-dq6" etc) and flash away, once it's done either hit Esc to restart or F10 to shut down, whatever works for you.
Thanks, i formatted it in FAT, i think thats fine? Qflash detected it. I'm about to try and flash it..
Should i go from F1 to F2, or F1 to F3?
FAT is fine also, you don't have to go from F1 to F2...in fact you can go from F1 to F9, be prepared to see new options and differences in bios, how the bios behaves will also change.
Thanks, the lastest out for my board is the F4a beta bios. Right now, i flashed it to F2. And i love it, before i couldn't hardly get past ~500FSB :D
This has fixed my problems, i'm probably flash to F3 later

1. Fix Audio Latency
It's not up on the server for downloading...yet.
Do they have a new one for the EX38-DQ6 yet?
It'll appear Font, sometimes they test beta bios themselves before putting them up, if there OK they put up a link.
Release note for the latest Jmicron driver update have been upped to the FTP:
JMB36X RAID Driver Release Note
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
R1.17.37WHQL
- Issue Correction
- System freezes for several seconds when turning on the power of hard disks.
I flashed to the latest bios for my board, F4a, the only difference in bios settings is the 0.5 multi option. Which doesn't work on my E8400 anyway.
I'm having alot of trouble getting 4.7Ghz, but 4.6Ghz is benchable. Still a huge improvement of F1, which couldn't hardly hit 4.5
EDIT: does anyone know that the "motherboard" temp goes to? its like.. it never changes..
