Anyone else having cold boot issues with these motherboards? Every morning I wake up, and have to reset the system to boot @ default clocks, then change the settings back to what they were, and then it boots fine.... what gives?

No updates?, bios etc?
Quoting, "Gigabyte will release a final BIOS on or around the 16th of this month". The 16th hasn't arrived on the island of many wonders! It's just past midnight on the 15th.:D I guess we could hope for an early delivery.Quote:

anything higher than 422x9 does this to me also.
I bought some new vented PCI backplates if anyone is interested in that sort of thing......
I think I found problem with high temps on my CPU, my case cooling is not as good as it should be. Which is odd cause I had this same setup for 3 years.
Now the case sounds like a jet engine, time to upgrade case. Then im going to take the plunge and just watercool the CPU.
What I don't understand is this CPU is running as hot as old P4 is at load, but at load the old P4 was within range it should of been. yet core 2 duo running at only 1.86ghz is as hot as the old p4 was when It is suppose to run cooler. IM guessing its prob just a multitude of things, mostly dual core and case airflow.
This old Inwin Q500 tower case is hitting ebay i guess. hehe

My DS3 *DOES NOT POST* in dual channel mode. The ram is transcend ddr2 667, chips are D9GMH i think, D9xxx for sure. I have tried Twinmos DDR2 256mb x 2 533mhz as well as Corsair 1gb x 2 ddr2-667 sticks, same issue. Tried bios F7, F8a as well. The cpu is an e6300, with a radeon x700SE and a chieftec/delta 450W psu. I dont want to overclock, i just want my machine to run at stock speeds  :fact: Its been a month since ive been running in single channel mode. Gigabyte tech support was of no help, telling me to use only "approved memory modules".
Any help greatly appreciated.

I say this with deep conviction
you need to immediately and i mean right now, stop what your doing and go buy a R E A L psu.
and i dont mean some 50 dollar jobby like you have in there right now.
i dont care what retarded computer place told you that psu will work ok but its crap, Chieftech is one of the most horrible PSU's you can ever buy.
go spend $100-$150 bucks and get a nice PSU.
if you do that ,, and you can verify that after you have researched and found a PSU that is good, and the system is still not working, then do an RMA of the motherboard.
but right now that psu is the one thing that is killing your hardware. go get a new one.
You tell 'em Lestat!, PC Power & Cooling 1Kilowatt power supply...right job!

Thats overkill :P Get a nice enermax whisper PSU 400-500watt and you be in heaven. Love them!
I know this is obvious..but you did put in right slots on mobo right? hehe
Exactly, are you using both yellow slots. If not, that should be your issue.Quote:

Anyone have a info, how well Cellshock PC8000 5-5-5-15 will work on DS4? no problems like DS3 i hope?
Richard, does your PSU whistle ?
When I turn-on my OCZ GameXStream 700W, I can hear a light whistle.
But when I turn-on my PC the whistle is louder :/

and the UL cert.# proves what ? who cares the psu is crap.
and the Antec TruePower 500's are also crap, yeah you heard me they are crap.
but either way, contact gigabyte, start an RMA, but dont let them make you go to the website, make that lazy dummy who answers the phone sit right ther eand do the ram for you on the phone, they will pawn you off to the 100% worthless support form website everytime. dont let them.
or contact whomever you got it from and rma it to them.

many times its nothing but the components inside making noise, like the coils on the mobo do. if its a coil it isnt such a big deal, but a bad Cap can whistle, and that is bad, if a cap where to go the best thing that could happen is that your psu would just stop working. the worst thing is the cap could explode, fry your psu, and in turn it just surges every component in your PC and fries every single piece of hardware.
the GamerXtreme 700 was recently shown in a thread here to be an extremely bad PSU that doesnt even meet the standards set down for it to be a ATX psu.
which to me is shocking since my 600 Powerstream is just a beast. and i love it and always will.
consider calling OCZ and RMA'ing it, i almost bet ya they would rma it right on the spot if you can prove its the psu.
you also will want to realise that even though you dont have your PC turned on the motherboard is still fully juiced. meaning the parts are still getting juice so it could be the mobo thats whistling. which is very common for the gigabyte boards, mine does it and most peoples do it, that i have talked to.
maybe bios today???? a day early?:stick:
God that would be nice. I hope they solve atleast SOME of these D9 issues. Im not looking for 500FSB, but a stable 472+ would be fantastic:D . By the way, we have the same E6300 L627 chip!Quote:

HAHA!!!....look:
Q; When Intel QST is enabled, will the result of overclocking be affected?
A; Yes, it is an Intel QST limitation.
Idiots, and it used 16MB of RAM, you CAN'T overclock with QST enabled...belive me i tried.
mmm Thats what they are saying Richard..
