I think I must be doing something wrong, I removed my IHS, I nicked a capacitor :( but it is still running :) I lowered back down to stock temps and I have worse temps now, I sanded down the socket so it would sit on the core as flat as I could, as of now it doesn't even hit the raised part of the socket.

I spread a thin layer of Zalman Grease on the core and also on my HSF, but I had better temps before with my heatspreader on lapped back to the copper. :( the stuff on the IHS was very thick and hard btw, my articlean had a hard time getting it off!
any ideas? maybe use more compound? I can't even put it to 2.7Ghz because temps are so much higher.
