0942 is not the best week.. but i think you will make cinebench @ 4.0ghz if you try abit harder ;), around 1.48-1.55vcore and maybe try nb/imc voltage 1.15-1.3v. If thats not work move the stuff outside the window for some fresh air.

Lastviking: tomorow il test it. To time, i can good stability at 3716Mhz and 2600 MHz NB with 1.375V, 3817MHz with this voltage not passed all time. Yesterday i havent much time-only 2runs Cinebench, qucikly at 4080MHz with 1.5V and in x64 at 4GHz with 1.488V. And than only 2x stability test with default voltage. Think, i need more time to test. But even so, according to the benchmarks, think that the chip will be nothing extra. Can me AMD change it?:)
Ok now to go by 64NOMIS' rules:
System:
Asus crosshair III Formula
965 C3
2x1 GB CSX Diablo ram (D9GTR)
Silverstone DA800 PSU
Watercooling:
Heatkiller V3.0 cpu block
PA120.2 and PA 120.3 rad with 5x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850 rpm fans (Running full throttle)
DDC+ pump
EK 4800 series vga block
3/8 tubing
OC: 202x20.5=4141MHz Vcore 1.48V
Pic of the screen with thermometer, the upper value showing the watertemp, lower value showing ambient:

I'll save the pics of the systems as i already showed them in the C2 thread and nothing has changed other than the fans, CPU and ram.
Screen of half an hour Prime blend:

Screen after 5 minutes of idle:

I tried 4161MHz but it rebooted after several minutes, over 1.5V makes one or more cores error.
nice clocking there Zeusje.
My wallet is burning in my pants or is it something else. I might get me one of those C3's.
Just got back from the HCC where they have some nice setups running at the hardware.info stand.
I'm running C2 on max 3,8@1,45V stable in W7 64B.
4Ghz is no go with 1,5Volt with my setup.
P.S. do you have the EK full board installed?
Keep up the ante.
Hey there,
If it's something else burning in your pocket it's asking for immidiate attention! :D
I could get my 955 C2 doing 4GHz Prime stable but ran it 3.8GHz daily.
I don't have the EK fullboard block on it, i don't think adding the extra restriction is worth it.
And besides, the board barely gets warm. Gotta admit that the block is a great looking piece though. :)
Hey Dave,
I cannot comment on the Apogee GTX, i think that is Swiftech latest block with the micro pin design and alternate inlet?
I can only say this heatkiller took off 1-2ºC idle and about 4ºC load compared to my old D-tek FuZion block.
I have the delrin LT version and i like it a lot, been trouble free so far. ;)
And the price for the LT version (not to be confused with LC) isn't too bad either, at least not here in europe.
Sorry guys for little OT, but 7GHz+ PII C3 under LN2 not LHe must see !!!
It seems there is newer XT than GTX. but there is no plate for AM3+ yet. According to Swiftec, XT has about 3degrees improvement above gtx.
Nice to see you using heatkiller. v3.0 tempts me really after seeing madschrimps intel i7 core test :)
I wonder if Phenom and core i 7 are similiar regarding heat dissipation for water blocks?
still not quite cold yet for milwaukee standards but cold enough for 4.2ghz ;) (around mid 40's F outside)
still using xigmatek s1283 with scythe ultra kaze 3000rpm for my air cooling and this is on windows 7 64-bit
had to put my pc on the window ledge of our 2nd story place

now the journey for 4.3ghz ;)
Wow, you like volts lol.. Nice air run:up:
Looks like we are approaching the end of round one. Any last entries before we move on?
Then we are agreed. All will WAIT AND WATCH for Titan7171 to post his chilled water results. This will mark the passing of this half and the start of the second and last half for this thread. We will take a tally of all those who have fought with air and water and their efforts will not be forgoten. If you wish to be counted among those completing the first, then know that the hourglass is turned and your time runs out.
With 8ºC outside temp i had to give it a go:

:D
A shot of the monitor with Prime running and the pc in the background, or should i say backyard? :)

A full shot of the monitor in crappy light conditions:

And after 5 minutes idle:

Systems specs are the same as before, outside temp 8ºC.
Overclock: 201x21=4221MHz
Just some observations:
The chips stops scaling after 1.5V, regardless of temps (i'm talking temps above 0 ) and CPU-NB seems pretty weak compared to my old 955BE C2 and even compared to my old 940BE.
I can't stabilize 2.8GHz with reasonable voltage where my old chips could both do that easily.
Ok, that's a done deal now, ready for the next part Simon. :)
Nice one Zeus! :)
Edit: I like your mousepad ;)
Nice temps Zeus.
I have the same limit with cpu-nb, for 2800 it just needs too much voltage.
Thanks guys.
It was nice to have mother nature helping me a bit even though temps werent that low.
It surely helped me out for 1M:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...tory/15359.jpg
Efficiency isn't great due to lowish cpu-nb, hopefully subzero ambient temps might see me breaking into the 14's. Not sure if this chip can do that as it's allergic to voltage over 1.52V. :(
Seems like this new C3 is a hit and miss, some people having good success, some not as good a C2, i just ordered a 965 C3 hope it out does my C2
