Lsdmeasap,
Are the other EX58 boards coming immediately after the X58A-UD7 or do we have to wait until January? I would prefer the UD5 over the UD7 because I am not comfortable with water cooling, but if I had to wait six or more weeks I wouldn't.

According to Manual, you have Hybrid Silent-Pipe Module.

I wasn't aware of this.
For UD7 or an Extreme board, you do not "Have" to water cool as shown above, it is just optional. You can use the Hybrid cooling pipe or nothing extra at all if you wish.
As for the others, I can't say yet, but I can say it wont be at the same time as UD7 should anything come about.
Well, to anyone in the UK looking to get one of these UD7's, you can now pre-order them on OcUK, they are going for £264.99.

I wonder why each time I contacted Gigabyte UK about these EX58A series boards, they told me that these wouldnot be retail boards, they even told guys at OcUK the exact same thing to, yet here we are, 2 months later, the boards I enquire about are made available?!?!?
I'm quite tempted to get one, but at the same time, I don't know whether it would be worth my while, moving from a current UD5 to UD7, when I think about it, there really isn't much reason why I should bother changing boards, but at the same time, it is always fun having new hardware to play with!!! :D
Will this motherboard have the same bandwith issues the P55A UD6 has when using either USB3 or SATA 3? Will there be similar revised X58 boards released from competitors?
The X58A-UD7 and P55A-UD7 (in particular) don't share bandwidth. However, any other P55A aren't showing very visible signs of issues sharing the PCIE Bus. At least, not enough for me to get all bent over. They seem to OC a bit higher more easily this round.
hmm looks very purdy, can't wait till it's in Oz :-(
Looks like tomorrow mate

It's (GA-X58A-UD7) available for $360 in The USA right now.
zipzoomfly had it for $370, but its gone already.
is this board available anywhere uk ?
OCUK Have it listed for pre-order.
With any luck Ebuyer, Scan or Novatech will have it for less shortly.
For Australians who are interested, these two places have them in stock right now: (GA-EX58A-UD7)

i was wondering:
Does it really have a different chipset (X58A instead of X58)?
Cause most shops and the gigabyte website say it is just a X58 chipset...
on first sight it seems just an ud5-extreme with extra chipsets for 2 sata3 ports and 2 usb3 ports
the thing is: i only need about 2 or 4 sata ports (sata3 would be nice, but it is not like i'll use it for now) cause I'll get an 8 port pci-e raid 5 controller
and also usb3 would be nice, but it alone is not really worth the extra 75 dollar compared to the normal ud5...
So if this ud7 does not make any difference in overclocking (i7 920 on water that is...) or other stuff then sata3 or usb3, then I don't think it is worth the extra price for me...
sorry if i'm not 100% up to date... I just came back from 1 month Thailand...
"Fixed PCIe with ability to boot over 222BCLK
Better power managment"
what has changed to accomplish these 2 changes?
cause those seem the most interesting to me...
is there any chance that they get fixed in the normal ud5 as well?
In Malaysia already 1 week in the shops.
All X58As have the PCIe fixed. In the EX58s, there was an option to change the PCIe but it didnt actually do anything unless you hard modded the board. These boards pretty much come with that mod done, so when you change the PCIe, it actually changes.
The boards have a higher phase, and cleaner power, and therefore, should overclock better, and be ready for Gulftown.
I am also almost 99% sure they do have the revised Intel Chipsets, I know some of the UD5's lately had shipped out with them.
I will check on this later tonight and see if I can get a for sure answer for you guys.
