For those that dont make it to the AMD section........ http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=228418
Well, now you're just being silly. Sure, I was expecting a bit more than 100-200MHz bump in clocks but how could you be disappointed by the stock clock? It's not for sale nor is it intended to be run @ stock. If they wanted to it's pretty easy to imagine these chips would do 3GHz at that voltage (they did, 4,0GHz to be exact).
*facepalm* You do have eyes, right? 4 Ghz stable @ 1.45v, 6.6 Ghz QUAD CORE not DUAL CORE. It is highly binned, it's high leakage, and meant for LN2 or Liquid Helium.
The above post is an epic fail.
I'm glad you like E8600's. They are great dual-core CPU's. Overclock well, and don't make too much heat. When you realize that 4 is greater than 2 I'd be glad to think you make sense.

Lots of reviews for something you can not get... :)
Just to make things a bit clearer....
From what i read, i found some really logical words...
AndQuote:
If you look closely at the TWKR-edition's heatspreader, you'll see AMD Phenom II 42, TWKR Black Edition, Not for Sale. There is no serial number or any other identification marker. This is because the chip is offered “as-is,” and not covered by AMD's product warranty due to the increased heat and expected shorter life they're destined to live.
So this would be a nice answer as to why these are not widely availabe. They are not for your everyday use! , and everyone that thinks why these chips are sent to "some" and not to you, then you should really reconsider the purpose of this special edition chip.Quote:
The fact that these chips are high leakage components actually makes them undesireable as retail processors. Whereas AMD's flagship Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition falls within AMD's specified thermal limits, these TWKR-edition CPUs do not. They draw more power, generate more heat, and run less efficiently than the chips that AMD sells. The hardcore overclocking community isn't really concerned about efficiency or heat, though. Rather, they're looking for sheer performance, which leads to record-setting benchmark results. This is why AMD's TWKR is so attractive for extreme overclockers and not average users, or even overclockers cooling with air.
Oye, I am not sure if it was kingpins intentions, but that freeze frame courtesy of AMD is showing everyone what a kingpin pot looks like inside, something I remember kingpin not being too pleased about.
100 in quantity? They might as well given these diamond heatspreaders with gold pins.
So anyone put one under xtreme cold yet Liquid Helium?
Seems like these chips are the ones that would have been RMA'd if someone actually got these.
You don't get it i sad that this 42tweaker is just a little bit better than some 955 that can do 4ghz 1.45v-1.50v and also 6.5-6.6ghz it's nothing new i mean 955 had reached that frecuency....Quote:

So this limited launch "not for sale" it's just marketing...
"Regular" users will be able to get 125W 965BE while the LN2 OCers will try to get leaky 42twkr .This way AMD covered both sides. And who's to say 965BE won't clock close to twkr? Twkr owners just have a bit better chances to reach 7GHz on Ln2/Lhe than those with 955/965.
 for revealing the new kingpin pot internals... at least you cant see the bottom
So the TWKR chips have better oc capability compared to the 965be?
So I guess the Phenom FX will be @ 1.35-1.4v @ 4ghz.:D
The problem PII is warmth, PII like cold at AIR (and not only with AIR) ---> with this C2 revision is 4GHz topmodel unreal...I mean, max 3.6GHz clock model, not more.
