Can you run SATA drives on the SAS controller if you need to add extra drives and all your other SATA ports are used?

Does anyone use their PCI-E x4 slot? and if so, what for?
Which bios are you using? I really hope it's bios related and that it can be solved by a bios update. Tonight I will also start a thread on Asus forum and hope other people have solution or similar problems as well. Maybe nut maybe an Asus employee picks up the problems report them to be added in a bios update but I'm affraid that will be a nice fairytale. :D
I'm on 0202 bios. I also hoping that these bugs are bios related. It's a bit annoying to power up twice actually for me. I hate Asus forum as it is too damn slow. They need to increase their bandwidth. I really don't know whether any of Asus employees do read their own forum.
Indeed it with regard to a failed OC. My Asus P5E3-Premium did the same. But the thing is that my comp. also does this when I just powered it up by using the power button. So it acts the same BUT with one major difference. With a failed OC occured everything will be automatically set to default so it can POST. When you hit F1 accordingly your previous settings will be back. But when I just powered up and it starts its reboot cycle it won't ask me to hit F1 or F2 it just boots nicely into Windows and remembers my settings.
It's just fricking annoying that it powers up two times meaning everything will be stressed with current for a short amount of time (HDD, pump, mobo, CPU, etc.). :(
Thats exactly what "all" of my s775 Asus boards do as well as my x58 board, blips on for a second then off then turns on again and boots up fine. I wouldn't hold my breath on this being something that is going to change with Asus, they're boards have been doing this on me for the past couple years.
Still deciding if my next rig will be a single Core i7 Asus or Gigabyte extreme. The wait is on for a dual mobo to surface and if Asus or other top tier vendor will come up with gaming boards for the new EP 55xx series Xeon CPUs.
Perhaps a souped up next-gen Mac Pro
@ Highoctane,
Crap, I really hope that it will be fixed with a new bios update.

Btw does anybody know how to install chipset driver 9.1.0.1012 from the Intel website. When I double click the install executable (so no .zip file) it starts correctly but the moment it wants to install it says that there are already chipset drivers installed. Yeah duh, only this one is newer ofcourse? How can I update my chipset drivers to this newer version? Or delete the old one and install the new one accordingly?
Same here. But those drivers (and newer) are available here:
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/intel%20chipset.htm
Newer matrix storage manager as well:
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/intel%20raid.htm
Station-drivers always seems to have way newer drivers than intel themselves.
Here is the link to the newest chipset driver. The Intel download section is always a complete mess IMHO. As you can see I found this driver at the Intel motherboard section instead of the chipset download section.

Any body who can tell me how to install this driver or uninstall the old one? Should I be able to uninstall with device manager for example?
Sorry for not reading all 10 pages, but what issues have you guys had with the board? i have read a lot of complaints but non were specific.
i got this board on sale at microcenter for $285 but don't know if i am going to keep it. So any advice?
Do any of you guys get a delayed launch of Internet Explorer or, say, Outlook when you first come out of screensaver mode? Takes about 5-10 seconds for anything to launch coming out of screen saver mode... after that everything is fine... any advice?
P6T
920
Velociraptor 300
Vista 64...
I am scratching my head as to why you guys have so
much problems with this board and hate it so much.
I have the P6T non-deluxe, using the latest bios,
and running raid 0. Everything is working just fine.
It was the easiest install and overclock i have ever had.
I can't understand the hate for this board either. It was simply as hell to overclock my 920 with P6T Deluxe with most settings on auto :)
My only complaint is some compatibility issues with my Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse but that was solved with razer products :D
