and additionally, I don't think the best OC'ers weren't able to get a 965 Board... which only lead to one conclusion: 965 isn't faster
I don't think that the fact that 965 can't do Crossfire is the only reason why highclockers left it out...
in fact, for SuperPi you don't need CF ^^
Soory I took so long but here is a pic... It's a 965 chips...

Thx, but's a P965 Platinum like i thought :) But i guess this is an early ES :) The name is printed between the PCIe x4 and the PCIe x1 :)
FLMJIGGY, maybe a noob question but is there a place where i can find detailed pics of all those new boards
ugh, sig pics.
I'm adblocking every one.
Am I the only one looking to buy the Gigabyte DS4?
Fantastic layout, features, and hopefully performance/OC'ability.
I'm about to buy a Conroe 6700 ES but I'm really hoping there is another board I can buy besides the Bad Axe. Are any of the Asus or MSI Conroe-compatible boards coming out within the next 1-2 weeks? I noticed coolaler has a MSI 975 Platinum 2.B board that seems like quite a beauty but they don't seem to yet be available. I'd rather not buy a Bad Axe and then sell it in 1 month when better boards are released. Thanks.
I don't think it's ever a noob question when you don't know!Quote:

I have a few more but i dont remember where I got them from and I dont want to post them all here and mess his nice page!!!
I am doubtful that we will see too many before the July 23rd release. I would think the MSI and DFI are fairly good possibilities to show up in that time period though. I'd hold out as long as you don't have that Conroe in your hands :)Quote:

Ok, from what I am understanding is an later revision to the
Asus P5WD2-E Prem. does in fact support Conroe.
I need an 975x to get crossfire going so for me its essential to look for an nice
solid 975x/conroe board.
I am grabbing an P5WD2-E with latest rev. and will post any and all findings.
;)

See the molex connector?
Do I NEED to use it?
Me hates Molex :slapass:
EDIT: Missed the pics that had been posted earlier on in this thread. Anyways I'll keep em so you see what I mean.
No, only if you are planning to use 2 PCIe GPU's without their own power connector... And even then that molex is only there to make it more stable... But no you don't have to use it :)
That's nice to hear, thanks!Quote:

man, i hope these boards come out soon, i have some good ram (pc2 6400 DDRII 800) and a pentium D 820, with a xp120 etc. to hold me over for a decent priced conroe (probably the 6600/6700) im just awaiting a good board to throw this all in, i dont need the best of the best, just something that will allow me to have 3Ghz on air with the conroe, and hopefully 3.6-4.0 on air with the pent. D. keep this thread up for updates etc. i need to know! :)

still can't find a single US board for sale :P
how can you tell if the P5WD2-E prem. is the newest revision from the box? i'm going to check them out at work tomorrow. they intel 975x rev. 304 so i'm hoping they have the newest asus ones
btw does anyone know if mp-05 will fit on that board? the mosfets look kind of close, dont' know how low they're though
Look at the board itself, if it has 8 phase power it should conroe compitable, and it should be rev 1.03GQuote:
