MM Pinnacel 24 --- With Quad TFC on side Panel and Triple TFC in front

Mountain Mods Pinnacle 24 with Quad TFC on side Panel and Triple TFC in front with two loops.

Having the quad on the top panel prevents have 2 drives and a fan controller.
So I modded the case to have the quad on the side and built my own bracket for the drives.

This is a great case but having the rads in the front and top only is to common and makes for to much tubing.
MM should have cut out a hole for the mobo back plate, its OK I cut one myself.

Same components as my sig but with and added Quad TFC rad and mcp355 pump with XSPC res/top.

I will be taking my time on this build so it will look and perform great after its done.




Loop #1: Quad rad -i7 920 CPU W/ K-350- res/pump
Loop #2: Triple rad - GTX 260 W/DDtieton block - Swiftech MCW-NBMAX for NB - res/pump.


The side panel was solid, I used a 4 1/2 inch hole saw to cut out for the rad.
Good thing I had a great pattern, the top panel with three holes cut out that came with the case.

1/2"x1/2"x1/16" aluminum L corner was used.

This is what the CPU loop will loook like.
I want to install the BitsPower Q fitting w/2 45's so there will be an easy
drain line that will work with a KooLance Quick disconnect and a temp probe.

Will this fitting hinder the flow rate? Or will this be OK?

The L fitting for the GPU is ok cause it's staright with only a drain line.

I did all my wire extensions, and sleeving today for better cable management. Going to try and conceal as many wire as possible. This case needs LONG wires! LOL.

BTW i will probly mount my HDD's like you did. Thanks for the great idea.

LOL Yeah i has worried but it worked out great, besides i have a spare with no window, so if I screwed it up the first time I would have a second chance and then buy a panel with a window.

It helps when I have been in the construction trade for 15 Years. Learned somethings over time.

That is the way I will end up doing it. Have the pump before the block. maybe make that fitting into a 90deg. leading to the res/pump.

Well, if your loop stays the same as it is now, same order, I would put the drain between the pump and the radiator because it is the lowest point. If you change the order, I don't know what you would do.

One 90° fitting in a CPU only loop with an XSPC res top is no problem. Six, that might start hampering performance, but one or two, no.

What would you do with your drain port? I too am thinking about adding one in my loop, is there a good press and release mechanism I could obtain?

Koolance Quick Disconnect fittings are great for that.

I have 5 of them Installed right now in my HAF system, they are great for fast disconnects, but they are too restrictive. SO in my new system they will only be used for the drain line.

The loops are in, the Q fitting is installed. I know it would look better and probly perform better with out it but having a drain line and a temp probe
will be better for me , lol.

A question for you ... I think you have three fans in the top ... are these just for exhaust?

Thanks, Yes there will be three exhaust fans at the top and two at the back.

Got it done , didn't sleeve the 24 pin power, gpu power or the mobo 8 pin power, will do that when i have some time.

Overall this has turned out great, and the performance is exceptional.

Some nice thin U-Channel and a very open black honeycomb mesh behind those 4 holes would be nice :D

If I don't build another wood case I'll be building my next rig in a Pinnacle 18 I think :)
