Laptop with Athlon 64 at 2.4 gigs(OCED)

I finally prchased a Emachines M6809. With clockgen, I was able to get it to run benchmarks at 2396 mghz. This is stock cooling!!!! I am thinking of opening the lappy up and pulling the heatspreader to apply some as5. It would probably help the temps. This thing is awesome. I popped over 12k 3d marks with the mobile 9600 and no artifacts. With a cool day, I bet I could see more. What a sweet machine for $1400. It actually took me away from playing with the athlon xp HTPC. I guess I will have to try some more benchies tonight. The best sandra arithemetic to date is 10323 mips. Yeeha!! That is better than my 2.67 gig xp(benchable).

I've considered that exact model....at X-Mas time it was on sale at Best Buy, $1499 -$100rebate -$50rebate -$100rebate for a total of $1249.....wish I would have jumped! How's the screen? And have you gamed much?

The screen is nice and bright. No ghosting in games as far as I can see(1280x800).The screen is fully being used when playing at 1024x768 somehow. It plays FAR CRY-which is amazing for a laptop. At xmas time the 6807 was out. The 6809 has not been out that long(3 months). This one has the 3200+ at 2.0 gigs stock(1mb L2 Cache) Mine included a $250 rebate($1650 originally) Best buy reward zone=+$65 plus another $25 gift certificate when you apply for their BB card. 12 month no interest!!!! With al the overclockers that own this lappy, I bet we will see a better video alternative before too long. Do I foresee 20k marks on a laptop? No that was geforceti4200 whispering in my ear....Hehe.

461/229 at 2324.... I had a good run going at 2396 and 479/229. It started tearing at nature and within 10 seconds quit. Gpu temp raised fast and died. I know there is more in her.

it's great for the money....but put it up against the new 9700Pro Mobile with an AMD3400+ and it'll get TOAST. Try Voodoopc.com
or even the new Delll XLS...

Well we will see, I am within 500 3d marks of the top of the orb in 3d2001 and that is against the top of the line Dells. Omega drivers and windows 2000 install, here I come. You just wait Charlie...
