    OCing X1900GT

I got my hands on latest Ati card 1900GT did some 05 and 06 benches.
    Yonah platform, GPU on deafult.

The card was running really hot, 75°C, on stock cooler%freqs so ocing without extra cooling is almost absurdity . Ati Tool started showing artifacts at 625/745 so did a 05 bench at 620/720

The card has R580 core and 1.4ns rams, so there is a question if a card is unlockable.
Anyone has any ideas why it could or couldn't be. I compared card with 1900XT and the only difference is that it has 6 voltage regulators or what they are instead of 7 on 1900XT/XTX.

I am going to try to flash if sb could provide me a 1900XT 256mb bios. I was unable to find it.

Does it have the same PCB and levels of power?

If you have a cooling question or concern feel free to contact me.

pcb is the same as 1900XT/XTX, core is R580, 1,4ns rams, only difference (beside 256mb) is 6 voltage regulator insted of 7 on 1900XT
if that what you mean by levels of power?

Is there a difference between the 256MB and 512MB X1900XT bios?

You probably know that URL but anyway, you can find the 512MB bios here: http://www.techpowerup.com/bios/

I forgot: Are there any visible differences on the chip package? Resistors or cuts?

Think the six voltage regulators is six and not seven just because its 256mb ram and not 512mb. Just a thought.

I don't see a 256MB Bios there either, that's why I'm asking if there's a difference between the 512MB and 256MB BIOS. I don't know if the BIOS determines the memory size by checking some hardware stuff or by reading a flag that's actually included somewhere in the firmware.

    Hi,

Have you try to change the bios with Rabit 2.0a?

June - July here in Sweden at around the same price as an 7900 GT. I'm surprised there isn't more fuss about it already in the forums.

Saw that charlie also got one, but no more benches than with his buget system... weird.

Rabit has memory size modifying disabled for 1900XT/XTX bioses. I have talked to Rabit author, he said this function is experimental and it my not work at all. So he moddifed my bios for 1900Gt to 16/48, but it didn't work, I still got 12 pipes in Ati Tool and still same performance. Tried changing Device ID, still no go.
The only other way is to try to flash with 1900 AIW bios or if sb can modify 1900XT memory size to 256mb.

Thanks! I will certainly give it a shot. Tried 3.09 on tPU! Card is identified when I boot into XP with a PCI card, but system locks up when I try to flash using ATIWinflash.

Looks like AIW isn't working... that really sucks

Maybe contact Rivertuner author? Since he worked on unlocking pipes for NVIDIA, maybe he has done some research into the same for ATI
    oh man
