    For when we beat DPC...again

    Jan, 23, 2006

    final scores for the day

this is getting routine, DPC beaten again, so much for "why dont you guys compete in a 'REAL DC project'"

we're competing, DPC is losing, what else is new

we are doing good so far but we definatley need more firepower.

as of right now if we out produce DPC by 25,000 per day it will take 164 days to pass them, if we put up 50,000 more per day it will take 82 days to pass them.

I would like to see us pass them in < 100 days but to do that we need more POWER.

Bring it on, i am currently at 100% so unless i decide to borrow some of my negibors power my production will not increase by any significant amount.

I wish electricy cost less, but with Texas being one of the more expensive states for electricity I can not plug in any more computers even though i have them. look here TX is #41 out of 50

im @ #22 on that list, so i guess im not too bad off.

and as of right now, VS will need a little more production before fighting with kaptain and windforce, not only do they currently have a higher daily average, but they have a good lead already in overall credit.

you should overtake rod and LBM with a little work.

now, if nhenhophach was to get all of his rigs that were running d2ol (back when he was doing 20-30k days, then not only will you overtake rod, LBM, kaptain, windforce, XSTM , AND possibly ddtung, but whenever we get to full power, it might be possible for us to be doing 300,000 days.(this would mean more members crunching and also ddtung borging the rest of his office p4's now wouldn't that be fun

I understand. I'm in NH and we're #49 on that list. My electric bill was over $200.00 last month and I have oil heat and just 2 people in a 2200sq ft split.
2850 watts of PS between the 5 machines in this house doesn't help. I shut down the quad P3, it was doing crap, maybe 120 a day and a 700 watt PS. Simply not worth the money BUT If I could get my hands on a good producer I'd run another at 24/7..I want us past the DPC before the year is out and no close calls like D2OL..I want them butchered, smoked and sitting in the smoke house ready to be tossed on the BBQ Jan 1.2007..
Now all we need to do is get it done and pick a spot for the BBQ where we all can meet!

A small challenge that I think everyone can meet:
Get one friend, relative, girlfriend or anyone you know with a reasonably decent machine to run Rosetta in the next week! JUST ONE! If 50 of us got a machine added to the team that would do 200 points a day, thats 10,000 a day, 70,000 a week and an additional (app)3,410,000 by years end!

Grab him! Just that one machine at 900 a day is 306,900 by the end of the year! He'll produce by himself more than the whole XSTM team has allready!
I keep preaching, the key is numbers! Look at DDTUNG. All normal P4's but LOTS of them! I look at the farms some of you guys have and the specs are incredibly impressive but lets face it, there's a limit to the number of dual core Opterons that someone with normal finances can own. Get the little guys with the P4-2000's, the regular everyday machine that there are millions of. If they cry that it will kill the machine with heat or whatever, set it up at 50% cpu usage or even on the screensaver if you see that they will be a problem.
I've been in sales for over 30 years, the key to selling is confidence, knowing your product inside out and LISTENING to the customer! If you hear fears or concerns in their voice, back it off a notch! Rather have them crunching at 50% than at 0%.

mmmmmm #12 on the list for me, but since I'm currently in the dorms right now I could be considered to be #0 . Already have 5 machines running 24/7, haven't gotten around to the 6th one yet, damn I need a kvm...

I think Opty's are the way to go as far as power usage per WU, of course i have no actual data for this opinion I need ram and a little testing and the Meatgrinder will be operational.

please do NOT gloat already as much as I love some DPC spanking, DPC is getting a stampede going in a few weeks and a little bird said to me that this will most likly be a Rosetta stampede. (hey a guy needs his spy's inside the enemy fortress's ) So people, REV UP THOSE RIGS and lets get cracking!

New milestone i'd like to set for the team. Nr°3 before July. Really... if we make nr° 3 before july we can overtake DPC for christmas again no problem.

We still have a long way to go but if everyone pitches in, all of DDT's rigs are on rosetta, our Vietnamese warriors join the club full force we can take'm down no problem.

What's going on today? Lime green pie!

You guys all shut down or is Nheno up to his old tricks?
I got to the stats page and see VS with lime green pie!
We don't get lime green pie! We get yellow pie, or pink pie or maybe light blue pie! BUT NEVER LIME GREEN PIE!
and 3000+ points 4.5 hours into the day? Thats like 15,000+ for 24 hours!
I could get to like this!

Now where's Mad MikeE when I want to harass him?

Yea, we've had DPC by a little each day. Right now we're ahead by 4k. DDTung still has 23? comps at his office to borg, and conrad put in to switch all of the comps over to rosetta from d2ol. If all goes well, we could be at 150k daily. Although that idea of a DPC stampede is a little threatening, I think we'll manage.

Well, it's almost impossible, but that doesn't matter. Let's challenge ourselves!

DPC will be ours well before the end of the year... they don't have an impressive lead at all... and we are already out producing them.

    No problemo!!!

July? July? What's the matter with March 1 for #3..July for #2 and then the rest of 2006 to catch those very nice folks at FDC?
We're only 3 weeks into this so far and look what's happenned! I figure by March 1 this will be a out of control freight train heading straight at the DPC with numbers that they won't beleive!
Now if we could only get those rigs off of D2OL that are still crunching for them! That would be a major boost!

lets not focus on the cows, but Free DC. Although they are still active and have a huge lead if we had the full strength that we had d2ol we'd be able to be competitive.
