    Lappy with 855GM Chipset overclock.

as above, i wanted to know what program i could use to overclock the celeron 2.4 in this lappy. I've tried clockgen and CPUcool, but to no avail.

    It's a dell Inspiron 1150.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Usually with dell laptops the only chance of doing any overclocking is with hardware mods. They use proprietary bios which doesn't offer any voltage / chipset or fsb options. afaik, there are no hardware mods that can be done to those.

Also, even if you did find a way to oc, those 1100 series laptops have absolutely terrible cooling. A friend of mine has one, his overheats at stock speeds.

There is no pinmod that will work for the 855GM chipset. Only the 915 chipsets, as they support 133fsb. The 855 doesnt.

Can't pin mod on the 855 chipset. Gotta be on the 915. Time for a new laptop

if clockgen doesnt work, you're basically out of luck. well....

try systool and use every clock gen option to see if one works
