    Thumbs up A64 o/c suggester!

I made an extra tool for A64 users..
It is suitable for 754 and 939 socket.
Program is included in OcBible package.
Some photos may differ than current version I update this program like OcBible.
If you don't have O/c Bible (it's freeware) visit my thread here at XtremeSystems for requirements/troubleshooting etc...

    Regards,
    MrSeanKon.

    Let's start some tutorials.

My CPU MSF is 2720 MHz, Vcore=1.816 (Venice 3200+ 939 socket)..
I found this MSF with 10X multiplier.
So I wish to see if I can use other multiplier:

Xm this is impossible cos RAM now cannot run over 275 MHz...

    Let's use divider:

Yeah 9.0X requires RAM divider of course.

Here is my old 754 3200+:

This CPU has default multiplier 11X and program suggests 9X.

Assume that you have a different RAM divider in BIOS.
I don't have any mainboard so I don't know any combination.
But this program is flexible and allows different values for RAM dividers
So if your mainboard has 183/200 divider then you have to enter 0.915 in textbox cos 183/200=0.915.

    Program suggests 8X now.

In general O/c Bible warns user if he/she enters wrong data.
    But don't input garbage everywhere...
I think this photo is obvious:

I don't recommend RAM dividers lower than 0.5 and higher than 1.0.
That's why I banned these options...

If you enter a non supported divider then program warns you!

I know that O/c Bible RULEZ! but don't input this text in combobox!

Sometimes program cannot find a solution cos RAM could run stable there.

Look CPU vs RAM ration combobox now.
It has 2 value but program cannot find a solution again:

The reason is Decimal multiplier check item is on.
Thus program seeks for optimum solutions for 9.5, 8.5 and 7.5 multipliers (not integers)...

Using 166/200 RAM divider now program suggests 8.5:

But as you can see CPU speed is 2618 MHz and our initial value is 2720 MHz; a great difference.
This happened cos of CPU vs RAM ratio = 2.
Let's increase combobox value to 100 (CPU is the King):

Multiplier is 8.5 again but FSB (HTT) is higher and CPU speed.

We all know that most A64s are semi locked --> you can low multiplier value but you cannot increase it from default value.
OK there are some exceptions some A64s are full unlocked.
    For example engineering samples..
In this case if you found CPU MSF with a higher multiplier and your mainboard cannot achieve this speed with a lower program warns you again:

In addition there is not reason for searching A64 CPU limits with higher multiplier than default.
Barton + old AMD logic does not work for A64s...
For more info visit O/c Bible's ABXzone forum and read 5 - 8 posts there.

I have to stop tutorials now.
If you have any recommendations please post.
Moreover if you want extra RAM dividers in RAM divider combobox say your combinations.
It's easy to add more (switch command in C# is flexible)...
Until this moment HT ratio can have integer values.
In next edition I will add decimal values cos my mainboard supports HT=1.5, 2.5...
If your mainboard has more combinations for HT ratio let me know.

    Enjoy!

this is a nice looking tool.
see if it is usefull while overclocking, because most of us have dividers/calculations in their blood ^^ when starting with a64 systems i used a calculator for ram/ht speed/dividers etc but i'm so familiar with my gigabyte now there is no need to calculate anything if i'm below 300HTT.
But it's nice it will calculate possibilities for other divider/multis so it'll be easier to change from 10x testing to 9.5x or 9x...

SoF of course we all know that decimal multipliers give lower RAM performance but if you don't care for it you can use decimal (floating point) multipliers.
For this reason O/c Bible's package includes many programs for RAM/CPU/multiplier effects..

I had Gigabyte in the past (K8NS Pro for 754) but now I have MSI K8N Neo.
So if your mainboard has different options in BIOS for Hyper Transport and RAM dividers inform me and I will update it for O/c Bible next edition.

Anyone else having problems with this?
I used WinRAR 3.3 to extract the file, and I get a error when I start it - The Application failed to initialise.

    Sounds good though.

oasked O/c Bible and this program requires Microsoft Framework v1.1.
    Please read first post here.
OK I can upload at this moment new O/c Bible edition but it is not necessary for only one program.
I said above that new version will include this program.
On the other hand O/c Bible is a complete package.

    Later,
    MrSeanKon.

omfg - sorry but I needed no tool today because my winchester was crap under subzero even with a layer of AS5 and sealstring @-10°C ^^ 2500MHZ SP1m reboots LOL....
I won't forget to reply you when I have a Newcastle 3500+ here. Because of the 11x Multi there are more possibilities I can try to calculate and check afterwards how reliable it is. Some things according to the functionality seeming a little bit unclear to me but without really using the tool during an overclocking session I haven't any results to check this in detail.

A little OT, sorry, but where do I find CPU Stretcher? I've downloaded your Bible and I didn't found it there.

    No problem SoF!
Prepare/chech/test your system and then you will try A64 o/c suggester.

Daved+ CPU Stretcher is in Any CPU tools category.
It is included in O/c Bible.

    A new edition is available!
    Grab attachement!
This version outputs a second optimal choice (not always) thus I think it is more useful!
    Some examples:

I also corrected a bug in combobox (CPU vs RAM ratio).
    Post additional options you want!
    Grab attachment and enjoy!

Sean would you recommend a program like CPUID to check the Vcore? i dont have a multimeter in hand and can't check volts as of now.

Choosing CPU vs RAM ratio 100 in combobox then you care for CPU speed more instead of RAM speed.
On the other hand if you choose zero then your final MSF for CPU speed is lower.
Play with this parameter and you will see the difference.

Αs about me I know many Maths but I have basic programming knowledge.
Οn the other hand many monitor programs exists (CPUz, MBM, Everest etc) but OcBible is unique!

You should buy one it costs around 30$ (OK it depends on quality cos expensive multimeters cost > 150 Euros)...
Keep in mind that any monitor program cannot give you the exact values.
That's why I persist and I post everywhere "Use a multimeter cos voltages are not actual"...
See Data Modeling example I have a comparison between multimeter and Epox (an old 754 mainboard) monitor program.

I am preparing some other additionals....
    Something like a blender...
I mean that A64 o/c suggester will use other RAM programs e.g. RAM optimizer,RAM multiplier effect, B/W efficiency....
But I need time for beta testing....
    Be patient!

    Later!

Asian Guy i don't know the prices at your place but i gave 10 bucks (well euros) for my digital multimetre. Some motherboards report the voltages pretty decently but the again most don't really. Especially if you suspect power supply issues get one

    A64 Suggester User Report -.-

Here is my report about the suggester:

I think it is very usefull when you already had some processors on the same rig and you have some values for the MSF's.

    Example:
I know that my RAM does ~272MHZ 1:1 and ~265-270MHZ on dividers.
    HT can easily handle 1000MHZ
FSB maximum was 327 HTT (328HTT will hang up before IDE detection)

Now I got a new Venice. Let's say I knew 2.5GHZ @1.4V pretested on air.
So I think it can handle 2.75GHZ compressorcooled on the first boot --> 2750 MHZ CPU MSF

I will get 2 values for 166er Divider and one for 180er Divider (means 0.9 decimal), 1:1 won't work as the divider will tell me what is totally correct! :

Now I have a good overview - how to reach 2750MHZ with which clocks without calculating a lot. The last one would fit for a test run...working @1.4V for me and I exactly was aware of my clocks I will get before
I did this manually before with a calculator but since I have the suggester it was easier to play around with it even when the system was almost maxed out.
I was unsure if the RAM could handle more than 267MHZ on high clocks with dividers because of Pi problems when improving RAM settings - so I played around with the CPU clock to see how high I could go to stay below this value for the RAM. Normally I would have to calculate HTT/RAM ratio until I reached 267MHZ for RAM, afterwards check if the CPU stays below it's limit.
Easier to use the suggester: 267MHZ RAM, the other MSF's as before just playing around with the CPU MFS before program tells me "no solution found".
166er divider was a fixed value, because a lower one damaged the SuperPi 1m time extremly.
This was the last value I got:

In fact this was exactly the highest SuperPi 1m setting I could get!

    --> http://www.casextreme.net/pixx/bench...e/27_1s_1m.jpg

    Summary:
The suggester is a wonderful program to see when you will get which clocks, how far can you increase one value without getting the other ones out of the limits and even where my absolut Pi limit is, the program is able to tell me

    GREAT WORK MrSeanKon

    best regards,
    SoF

SoF nothing to add just wanted to say YOU RULE MAN! OK in next edition of O/c Bible I will add this program and of course 180/200 RAM divider as you wish.

    --> Note <--
Don't ask me anymore for A64 o/c suggester.
    Ask SoF!
    He knows more!

I promised it, I did it
Have fun while forums in greek, don't stress yourself, I luv the suggester and as long as the decimal function will work, I'm happy
Maybe I will post some new examples with OCCT testing but I have to get my temperature load problem solved first.
And if you want to save Sean some time I wouldn't mind to answer questions regarding the suggester as well

    good night everyone.
