LOL, I have always used a cardboard 'tunnel' (I dont run a case), which brings in air over the RAM, MOSfets, (clock gen in the older days of SDRAM, not sure if they matter anymore), etc. I then vent it out somewhere away from everything. Works well.

I have a 60mm mag fan right over the mofset and a 92mm fan blowing directly over the RAM. Works really good...

LOL HCC , thats one hell of a chipset cooling rig :P

Why not watercool the GPU as well... you look like you have a "little" headroom in the rad :P

I dont cool the vregs on my system for day to day use, for benching I use a 120mm delta at full power
    Finger slicing good.

Yep - coming soon, ordered an ATI (brand !) X850XT from Italy (the original ATI card is not available in Germany).

Then I'll integrate the GPU within the WC circuit - right now the 6600GT is not worth the work.........., and I'm too lazy to do it twice.

Im only cooling the vdimm mosfet as the other ones (next to the ide slots) are cool to touch. On the other hand, the vdimm mosfet gets finger burning hot.

I was only referring to the vdimm mosfets, since i thought it was obvious that only the vdimm ones get hot. Anyway HCC how do u keep those fans in place? The main problem is keeping the fans in place and not falling out and chopping up everything in its path.

Zip ties, and more zip ties!

Ive read you can use the original mouting holes of the mobo and slip a screw through that thought, i think thats what hes doing. Scared as i am, i wouldnt do that though (im not advising against it, just saying id be too scared to do it). Looks like a nice lever that could break through the mobo rings. Then again, maybe thats not what hes doing at all, in which case, ignore me!

hmmm extra long screws for mobo, never thought of that b4. Do you know where i can get some that will screw into regular size stand offs?

if you bring a mobo screw into any decent REAL hardware store (hammers, nails, saws, garden hose type hardware store - not Sears or Walmart) so they can see what the threading and shank width are they should be able to cut you some matching screws to any length you choose

Yep - nice cookie box at all..........

I think the stock heatsinks are not bad - maybe there are some from better material somewhere but the stock ones are very large, never saw such large ones somewhere else.

Caused by the size they're able to catch a lot of air.....

Also the heatsinks are soldered on, so you better have a real good reason to try and mess with them.

so if i bring a mobo screw into home depot they can machine me a longer one? Then would i ask for some threads near the end of the screw where the fan would be so that the fan would be in place? or do i use a zip tie or something? also what length should i ask for?
btw all of u guys have awesome setups, seems like the guys with water/phase have a easier time getting the fans in place since the bolts for the evap/cpu block are big enough for u guys to mount on

HCC. You know how the drive bays are kinda to the left of the cae. Well what if under the 5 1/4 tray kinda next to the mobo, we instaleld a bracket and aimed a fan going down the ram...if you dont get what i mean ill make a nice paint :P
