    Cm-haf-xl

Hi there, greetings from the Netherlands
What better place to start my new build, with a very nice case "The Haf X"
    Called the CM-HAF-XL
I started this build begin december, and i am half way now, so i wanna share it with you guys.
But before i start, i wanna thank some sponsors

    Mister Freddy from Highflow.nl
    And
    Mister Ruud from Coolermaster.nl

Want to thank you for the trust and products
Coolermaster has send me a very nice case, and a beautiful psu
The HAF X and a 1200W Silent pro gold
The hardware that i'm gonna use:

    - HAF X
    - PSU Coolermaster Silent pro gold 1200W

    - 2 x 1 TB HDD

De components are gonna be cooled wih EK blocks and:

    - 2 x EK-Multioption 250 (Round 50mm)
    - 2 x EK-Spin Reservoir- plexi

some pics, before i take the case apart
    the package from Coolermaster

    The big one from Coolermaster

    Inside beautiful black

    Enough space for the components

    Sata dock, always easy

A lot of space for the reservoirs or radiators

What i really like for modding is the air duct for the gpu's

For so far the case. Also there was a nice psu, the 1200W silent pro

Enough cables for my tripple gtx setup
Gonna be a lot of sleeving

Next step is to take the case apart, and fit some components

The Haf XL, sad to see him like this.

Yesterday i had a little brainstorming session, I will reveal you some ideas

A 360 rad in this case is almost impossible, except for the top, but for the top I've got other ideas,
    now it,s going to be 2 x 240 rads

    Both sides 2 x 120 mm fan

For the top a have some nice ideas

Here comes 2 x EK spinbays

I'll have to do some grinding for the spin Bays

Gonna make 2 x square / octagon 3 mm plex fan bays, which will be the lid of the spin Bays

    Like this,

In the cover is coming a aquaero, and in the flat side i,am gonna make a slot for a slimline DVD-RW

i Am not sure where and if i place the airduct voor the gpu,s

The last idea for now., Gonna make a hood from the front to the back of the case over the psu, on top of this 2 x MCP 355 pump, all in sight
Under the hood i gonna place my hdd, s

    Hello again, new update

Cut 2 holes for the 240 rad

    removed some plastic

Cut a piece of uv-green plex

Drilled the holes for the screws from the spinbay

And installed the spinbay, only need to order 2 black impellers

    Yes, it fits

    One to go

The color for this mod is black/green

some Umzug von der Familie MDPC

    Sata and small green sleeve

Black for the sata and psu

    The total family package

    heatshrink

Heatshrink for the sata en small

Black rivets, ad to drill a lot when i took the case apart

    Mdpc M3 screws

Some special parts from mdpc, countersunk Black-Oxide screws

And snap-caps, nice for over some ugly screws

    The second spinbay

    Put it all togheter

Did some small grinding, to make it fit

Sawn some little pieces of uv-green acryl.

    Gonna be sanded and polished

The idea is to put smd led strips behind them

    pics in the dark

    nice effect

    Update !!!

Received some nice stuff from Highflow.nl and EK

To begin with tje black EK impellers

Always nice to receive a package

    Pump number 2

    The third nickel block

with three times a nice black backplate

put everything togheter with a tripple bridge

    and three Link force,s

    An extra 240 Radiator

And 4 beautiful Nanoxia 120mm Fans, uv green, same color as the green acryl i used

    +1 140mm fan

To control the fans and pumps i'm gonna use a Aquaero VF display.

And some small stuff to try out some nice ideas

2 nice fillports from Danger den

And 2 shiny nickel tops for the Mcp-355 pumps

    Put them together

Think it,s gonna be perfect in this case

    And the first Bitspower fittingen

Impellers already placed, looks better like this. Fillports coming up

I have made the midplate from a piece of mesh panel, gonna be painted black and some nice ideas in it

    Made the radiator bay
The first thought was to put the in/outputs of the rads turned to the inside, like this

But i want the pumps in one line

That's why i,ve turned one radiator

    Putting al together

I love the color of the fans, really nice

    Other side

Painted the bay and fitting it together

    flip side

Made the fillports into the spinbays

And in received a package from Coolermaster, some beautiful flatcabels. The idea is to
sleef the psu cables and to use flatcabels for the gpu.

    Coolermaster thnx!!!

bought myself a new cpu block

    EK-Supreme HF - Acetal+Nickel

Replaced the red plexi cover for the black acetal for the classified

    EK-FB EVGA X58 Classified - Acetal+Nickel

    Looking good i think

A new set of rams, 6x 2 GB

    placed on the board

Also looks nice. And i bought my third GTX 470, Nickel block placed on it

    And the backplate.

Conected all together with the EK tripple bridge

I'm in love, but it,s real heavy now

    Backplates really nice like this

I think i need to make something for the weight, but that,s for later
Have played with the Aquaero, and was real happy with the color of the display, with the green filter it was even better

Perfect, just the right color for this build

Started with the top, and placed the display in it

    Little test

Had sawn a small plate of acryl, need to polish it, but looks good for now

    Again little test

And again, the green filter placed back

The place where the usb and other stuff was is now for the buttons for the aquaero and some other nice ideas i have. But this is for the weekend, so.... be continued

    Greetings to you all.

awesome buddy, first hafx ive seen modded like tis, subb'd

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

    And another Update

For the aquaero buttons the idea is to place them vertical and place two extra buttons for the power and reset

In the past i had destroyd an aquaero, what is now very handy for spare parts, sawn the two buttons out of the old one. For the power and reset

Different sizes from the old and new aquaero

drilled and sawn a piece of acryl

And placed the two extra buttons

the pushbuttons at the same height

    And we have a " X "

    Removed the frontcover

Sawn a piece out of the case

Horizontal mounting is not an option, because the aquaero is to long and i want the " X " in the middle, thats why vertical

Fits nicely between the 2 radiators

Gonna light up the buttons with green uv acryl

Covered this with black acryl. I need to make this black acryl over because the holes aren't that good, but just for the idea

    And light it up

Tried some things today, and i removed the black acryl. Instead of this i have placed a sticker and cut out the stripes

    Better like this

    And some shots by night

Have replaced al the rivets and screws, before the hardware is placed

have made a solid tube between the reservoir and the Ek bridge

    From Reservoir to....

    Ek Bridge.

    Connected

    Placed the green nanoxia-140mm

Back of the case is not finished yet

The Msi bracket is gonna be replaced

From the gpu to the pump is gonna be a solid tube also, and the same for the pump to the radiator

    The right shape

The curve is for to get the right angel for the tube but also for the flatcables of the gpu,s

Just like this, the tube between the pump and gpu needs to be longer, but just to give you an idea

And the last thing i do this weekend, pimping the fans. Nanoxia sticker has to go

    Made my own stickers

    The famous snap-caps

    All fans are finished

I hope i,am not going to fast. Like i said in the beginning, started this build begin december
so i have about three more major updates, before I am on today,s level.
If you guys like it, i can place the three right away, or place them in a later stadium.

    Grtz.

    Update-------------------Sleeving, sleeving and more sleeving

This week it's sleeving time. The Silent pro is an easy psu to sleeve i think. Lots of space

The original flatcables had a bridge in it, really ugly so that has to change

    sleeving meets flatcable.

    2 x modulair pci-e

    And 2 x non-modulair

Placed the flatcables but need to straigt it, just for the idea

Nice green sleeve, same color as my Nanoxia fans

Green is finished, now it's time for the black sleeve

    Ready to plug in

Had to make the cpu cables longer

    These wil be black

split the green and black as much as possible

    And finished

    Placed in de Haf.

Green color of the sleeves are really the same as the fans

Cpu cable black sleeved 4 x 4 pins

    Nice curve in it

And a total shot with flatcables and sleeved cables. Need to straigten al the cables

Also made a mesh cover for the front panel out of a ceiling plate. This ceiling plate has a filter glued on it, so perfect for this purposes

    The ceiling plate

    Filter on the inside

    Beautiful mesh i think

    After some sawing and bending

And the filter on the inside

Placed a light on the inside to show you the filter

And this little project is finished

Greetings and till the next update

Nice sleeving done mate oorah , How hard was it to sleeve the PSU? I noticed when opening mine the same way you did i can never get the dam thing shut lol because the sleeving combines are quite big..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

    Thnx mate,

I must admite, this psu was the easiest one i have ever done
the opening is larger then the one from Corsair or a Be quiet
the secret is to stack all the cables one by one and push it
    leave no space between them

    Update-------------------Recycling

A friend of mine has given my a broken Logitech G15. The idea was to use it for the lcd screen, but when i dismantel it i saw the small plex for the illuminated board

    Idea !!!

Used a bigger piece for the cover

Sawn a piece out of it and drilled 3 holes for the bitspower fillport

    The three Bitspower fillport

Swan the acryl from the G15

    testing with a green ledstrip

    Looks like the matrix

Put a black vinyl sticker over the transparent acryl and cut small pieces out of it

    Place it in the haf

    Shot in the dark

    3 fittings installed

Everything is gonna be replaced for black fittings and solid tubes

    And a little Sponsor Update

Today a nice updat for the sponsors (and you offcourse)

First i wanna thank the people from Letterop Ijmuiden, who had made the perfect sticker.

Letterop Reclame uw specialist in de IJmond!

And i wanna thank mr. D hard, he also made this update possible

    Logo number 1

HighFlow Computer Cooling Shop - Uw shop voor PC waterkoeling, luchtkoeling, modding, behuizingen en gaming!

    Logo number 2

    Cooler Master

    The sticker

Sawn a piece of uv-green acryl, and made a slot for the slimline dvd-rw

Very carfully placed the sticker and cut the sides

To have a nice illuminated cover, Mr.D. Hard has given my 2 nice glowpads

Color is blue, thats why i had placed the uv-green

You can cut the glowpads any shape you want

placed on the back of the cover

    Illuminates Highflow

    Illuminates Coolermaster

And illuminates the hole cover, nice effect i think

    Placed back in de Haf

    The front almost finished

    In the dark............

    Grtzzz.

Did have this question a lot lately So i've did some research to find a shop.
But there,s not much info about these Recom gloplex pads.
I've send an email to Recom.nl and they told me that they can deliver these pads. So if you want the gloplex pads, you can contact Recom.nl

    And a new update....

    Update: Speed modding

Did some nice things these days. Finally received my Acryl and aluminum panels

    1mm black aluminum

and the panels i was waiting for Uv green 3mm

    And 5 mm

A little idea i had, drawing a mold

    Then cut out some cardboard

    Shapping the cpu

    And the Corsair memory

    The gpu's

    and the mold is finished

And now the nice part, when i screw this up, i have a big problem, this came out of a hole panel, so really cant screw this up. But with same patience it came out very well, i think

Cut out some openings for the cpu cables and motherboard cables

    And the cover is finished

there,s gonna be black stickers on it, and cutting these for a green outline

Some places have bubbles, so need to rub them out

And the I/O blocks (or how do you call them?) also black

Smd strips where ordered today, and iam very curious how this looks
Ordered green smd strips, smd Uv strips and some other led strips to test

    The whole thing...

By the way, there's gonna be an airflow behind the acryl and the motherboard, so dont wurry

    grtzzz.

Freaking perfection in a case you've got there. If anything, maybe darker acrylic?

    Simply awesome.
Personally though, I think you should go with the black bitspower rotary fittings instead of the sliver, the mix just doesn't clash well in my eyes.
    Other than that bravo
