Since last Friday I'm using P67A-UD7-B3, too.

I found a few things that I don't "lik". First was the fact that only one fan can be controlled (BIOS F3c JZ). And vcore (fluctuation) even with llc 1 is horrible in comparison with my former used ASRock Fatal1ty.

But I also had an issue with switching frequency. I set my 2500k with multiplier 48 and vcore 1.35 volts. Under load frequency went down to 4700 mhz constantly. I tried different settings in bios but everytime I got 4700 under load. Then I just upped vcore to 1.40 and multiplier to 50 and frequency stayed at 5 ghz all the time.

Does anybody has experienced the same issue?

So why is owikh84's board running his cpu worse than his B2 board?

I would tell you i have no idea why maybe his bios are reacting different . . I did all my settings that i know in my head by heart , and board ran exactly the same without a issues on two different sets ram , actually ran better cause boot issues have disappeared ,
Two thumbs up from me on the B3 running excellent

Just received mine yesterday.....if anything B3 board seems smoother, less reboots, etc. Still can't find a "nice proc" but with the ones I do have slightly lower volts to run the same benches.

same for me I just received my yesterday from newegg which was fast and next day shipping ,I agree the B3 seems so much smoother easy to play with now that when you switch setting they hold and you don't get boot loops , as for processor I'm in same boat , to hit 5.0 Im running 1.500 vcore to hold a load of 1.463 vcore , grrrrrrrr

I don't have the same issue, but i should tell you that OCing GB P67 boards is much different than OCing asrock/asus boards. You should disable turbo, as well as ratio change in OS. Disable power saving features, and just set a ratio for the CPU. IDK how much voltage fluctuation is b/c i haven't received my B3 yet, but I thought they drastically improved LLC on the B3 boards, at least they did for the UD4. I don't thin they have yet for the UD7.

Yes, of course Gigabyte is different than ASRock. But that's not the issue.

I already did that (UD7 is my 3rd p67-board ). That didn't help at all. The only thing that helped was upping vcore and multiplier. Everything else remained the same - and it worked.

With P67 Fatal1ty I had 5 LLC-options. I choosed Level II where my vcore dropped about 0.01 volts under load. I set 1.415 in bios and got 1.416 idle and 1.408 load. That worked perfectly.

With UD7 when I set 1.425 volt in bios I got 1.428 volt idle (LLC Level I) and 1.392 load. If I set LLC Level II (1.425 volt in bios is still the same) I get 1.440 idle and 1.452 load.

For me this is a bad situation. Either vcore drops nearly 0.04 volts with LLC 1 or it raises more than 0.01 volt with LLC 2. Gigabyte can do better for sure.

No offense, I like UD7. But there are a few quirks that shouldn't be on such a premium priced board.

I already discussed my findings with my contact over at Gigabyte and he forwarded it to the hq. Maybe and hopefully there is something that can be done...

You need to check the vcore with a DMM before complaining that LLC1 isn't working like you want it to. Several people who checked the UD4, UD5 and UD7 found that the boards overvolt from the sensor readings. And the UD4 overvolts as much as 0.03v; Bullet took a reading from his B3 UD4. If the UD7 does the same thing, then your vcore is almost right where it needs to be.

    F8f black screen

    Hi to all,
I've posted a few times and i always come to "Xtreme" first for all the best info.
Well, I have a B2 board and have just gone from F8x to F8f and now I cannot boot past the bios screen into windows 7 (64). It always stops with a black screen after "Loading operating system" Tried a full OS installation on another drive with same probs. Tried default bios and optimized as well, no go. Also tried Windows @BIOS to no avail.
If I go back to F8x everything is fine. I want to go to F8f because of the greater stability (reboots and C1's etc). Everybody agrees that F8f is the way to go but not for me.
It's a real pain for me and i am totally baffled. I don't want to stay at F8x if F8f is the better bios.

    Help needed please

    PS
Not sure If I'm in for a B3 board (I have registered) because there are usually too many hoops to jump through here (UK) so I need an answer if I have to stay with the B2 board

no worries friend your definitely on the b2 board , are the bios your using would not be working . Ok i had the same problem F8x to F8f at the loading screen , try go to bios and change your achi setting to ide and see if it boots on F8f , if it does you'll be without achi which brings a bit more hhd performance

No luck here with Hyper Redlines, on Ud7 or UD4, even with various other SPD's.

Let me know how you get along, but I suspect it's not going to go smoothly at 2133

    Thanx for your help.

Do I need to re-install Win7 before it will work or just select IDE in the bios and go for it............. or is life with F8x just as stable anyway?

If it is I might stay with F8x.

    hey no problem

You would have to just select ide in bios but once you go there it'd hard to go back to achi without reloading or doing a registry hack . . . Achi is faster for ssd and faster new gen hdd
if your not a big tweaker stay with F8x as it is very stable . . . .except for some reboot loops on setting chnages

    Good luck

Many thanx for your info. I'm good to go now.

Whether I stay with F8x or go for F8f is not the big mystery it was. I can go with either. The reboot loops with certain settings I can live with.

Maybe Gigabyte UK will make this problem irrelevant if they come through with my B3 version.

    Thanx again.
