Foxconn's Apple team works another employee to death

Hardly news giving that there have been 9 fatalities out of 11 attempts.

Shortly after, it emerged that the death of a worker at a Foxconn plant in Hebei province earlier this year was also a suicide.

A total of 11 Foxconn employees have tried to kill themselves this year - two have survived.

Apple should find a new partner asap, or take strong action against Foxconn!
If they don't, Apple will be passively endorsing Foxconn's treatment of their staff!!!

But they just hired the monks...

On a serious note, there is no way Apple will find a new partner for thier products, or they will end up costing even more than they do now.

I know of someone running another forum who would be a good fit at this FoxxCon plant.

I watched a mini-special about this. You should see how pathetic it is... employee's live at work! ...eat at work, sleep at work.. and work at work, which happens to be 12h a day, sometimes more! Can u imagine how mind numbing that can be.

    Day after day..

US-based China Labour Watch has criticised Foxconn's "military-style administration and harsh working conditions" and called on the company to "initiate a thoroughgoing analysis of life on its production lines".
you know ... when Chinese Labours start complaining .... you know it's real serious

oh look, once again Apple is associated with a series of deaths deemed Suicides; isn't this the 41th time in the last 20 years that this happened?

I doubt it, as 'forty one-th' isn't a proper ordinal.

They keep saying that these are suicides, but I bet they are just harvesting stem cells to keep Steve Jobs reanimated corpse running properly.

    Why is people acting shocked?

That Chinese companies whom produce western consumer articles overwork their employees has been around for a fairly long time.

I saw a documentary about something similar, cellphone factory, where the majority of workers are young girls with small enough hands.
Their work time, working conditions, apartments and salary is all pathetic.

    This page sums it up.

I wonder ......if this continues, will Apples products be treated the same (or similarly) to Sierra Leone conflict Diamonds....

But yea.... cheap products is the only thing a large % of people care about. More and more manufacturing is leaving the Western world so wallets can be filled more fully... and at the other end... wallets can be emptied less.

Western standards and western pay packets are partly to blame for this.
