So who owns the board ? I see replies and general assumptions based on OC Nubs and Szams findings. Result : we got a snowball effect going...

So how good was the UD7 in it's first months ? How good was UD5 in it's first months... think you guys are all pulling it out of perspective. This board is designed for benching Gulftown and due to demands they are pulling all the ropes they can to get the bloomfield users happy too... Most bios updates were to satisfy the benching crowd... now it's time to get feedback together for the 24/7 abusers.

On another note LinX and similar just give me the creeps... I personally couldn't care less about them stress tools... stability the magic word If it's game stable and Folding stable, I couldn't care less if it crapped out at LinX or co... such an overrated and overhyped stress tool... glad you guys love it
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I do have the board and it's working great for me so far.

I did achieve #1 worldwide in PCMark05 with it passing overclockers like k|ngp|n and Andreyang so I can't complain:

    http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...0x_34303_marks

And these results are not bad w/ either:

    http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...80_31283_marks

    http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...0_421961_marks

So for me as a bencher is working wonders. I even recommended it to OC Nub to test for max stability but it's not turning out to be that good, time will tell

i'm not givin up on the board lol
i'm just lookin for a second board
i lowered my overclock to use my ssd and poof lol as soon as i put pci-e @ 103 poof lol i got her @ 105 for now
board clock ram great but need pci-e verry high
how high is safe for ssd?
i got the board to pass the 229blk hump but @ 228 its totaly unstable
i wouldnt complain if it was as good as my rexII
i had another one commin i just canceled it
my forte 7.1 started freakin out @ 110blk+ now lol

    Very nice work Jor.

I was in no way trying to bash the board. I like to test stability some people dont, to each his own. It isnt really any different than someone trying to pass a benchmark at certain clocks, they will probably never try and run it 24/7 at such high clocks but it is fun to see what you can do with it. I havent had the best results with this board but as I said I havent had the board long.

The 2 main reasons I thought I would try this board are because, one Jor said it was a great board and I trust his opinion, and two because of a post by Leeghoofd: "For bloomfield 24/7 OC there's only REX III..."

I posted that, as the UD9 and Xpower are doing my head in as they refuse to post over 220Bclock (no slow mode)... I really hope it are just the media samples... the 2 REX III boards I have here both do the same Bclock...so I hope Bloomfield users can enjoy over 225 Block daily (if required)... darn I wished I had a 4.5Ghz CPU to test your fav super stresser there :p For Bclock testing they have to survive Wprime1024, Hyperpi32mb, 3Dmark06 and PCmark05. That should be sufficient for a daily user.

I really have the distinct feeling that there's a bios issue with IBT and sortlikes. I want to know is due to the elevated CPU frequency or due to elevated bclock, mix of both that IBT keeps on failing ? I can test with my 950 max at 4.3. She just get's too hot... might have to give the GT a run for it's money...

But anyway never mind some of my grrrrrauuwww posts, I can be grumpy sometimes... you have been warned :p

gotta agree with you here Leeg....why subject components to this much stress when there's benching to be done?? If it will fold & game, and the kids can't kill it..well, its good enough for me.

Due to me being an impatient goofball, I've ended up with 3 of these boards. And ... other than ripping off the voltage read points for the cpu on one board, ... they are all performing great. Yes, there are some small issues...but in initial testing this is one fast, very efficient board.

Give it some time, as bios'es mature I'm sure it will be worthy & take its rightful place as a great board.

I did notice that this board does push harder than my other x58, in LinX at 4500mhz I get around 57-58 gflops max. On this board at 4500 gflops are 57 sometimes but 59 and very close to 60 in others. I wonder if that could cause it to possibly fail on the same voltage?

On another note I was able to squeeze the board very tightly into an antec900 case with a pair of 5870's and try my new loop with it. Will keep testing it, and see what it can do.

Well, I have had the board for three or so weeks now and at first I had issues overclocking to 4Ghz - 4.2Ghz range. Now after tweking the voltages and updating to 704 I have had no issues with the board. It passed OCCT (Linpack) and has been folding BOIC for the last 3 days, not to mention I have gamed on it and had no issues. I really think this is one of those boards (just like the REII and the Classified) that you have to play with it and tweak it to get everything good. I think mild overclocks of 200BCLK are child's play on this board and anything above that is going to require some tweaking and patience. This is where I think the 980x has it's advantage since all you have to mess with is the multi, which I would guess is less stressful on the board than adjusting the BCLK. I really like this board and just wish I had more time to play with it. I have no doubt there are some quirks to it, but show me a board that doesn't have them when they are first released.

In my case of targeting a 20-100 loops of LinX, I think R3E is the best board I ever had.
I have used DFI UT X58 for several month, and then UD7 for 1 day, and R3E.

For a low VID 920: (1.13v default VCORE on UD7/R3E)
UT X58: easily 4.5G for 20-LinX; but 4.4G+ always fails 100-LinX. 4.6G 20-LinX is no-go. Requires more VTT than UD7/R3E for high bclk.
UD7: easily 4.6G 20-LinX. It seems to take less VCORE than R3E for benching, but takes more VCORE for 20-LinX.
R3E: easily 4.6G 100-LinX. Takes least VCORE for 100-LinX. However stuck at 220 bclk.

For a medium VID 950: (1.21v default VCORE on UD7/R3E)
    UT X58: easily 4.2G for 20-LinX; but 4.1G+ always fails 100-LinX. 4.4G 20-LinX is no-go.
    UD7: easily 4.4G 20-LinX. 4.6G 20-LinX is no-go.
    R3E: easily 4.6G 100-LinX. Takes less VCORE than UD7.

For memory OC, I can easily get my Hypers 7-7-7-20-1T-72 100-LinX for 920&950 at R3E with almost no tweaking, which is impossilbe for UT/UD7.

    For 920vs950/960 issue, 1.13v 920@1.36v is as hot as 1.21v 950@1.41v.

At last! Solved the LinX problem, it was the BIOS.

BIOS 602 = failed LinX randomly, 5-20 runs.

    BIOS 704 = pass LinX, 150 runs.

I thought most of you were already on 0704 anyway... seems not. With the beta there were some issues with Vcore readout via 3rd party programs (maybe this has been fixed in the final release), DMM and Turbo V to the rescue !!
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

I have been on the 0704 beta bios, now trying the official 0704. I cannot get the above 48gflops at 4300- 4400mhz linx using max memory- 5000+mb. Im not sure if its a bios setting or why it started doing this, will keep playing with it and see.

Marco, do you get the "USB Device Over Current" message when you have nothing plugged in? It sounds like the board is shorting against something.

Did you try switching to the other bios?
I had the same screen as in your first picture, it then ran a bios recovery and was fine. Then I flashed back to latest with no problems but I did what it said and let it run until it finnished and said to reboot. It was just a corrupted bios, that happened a lot on my UD3P board from overclocking memory.
