Yep, looks like my mobo doesn't like anything over 314FSB, and I can't go any higher due to cooling me thinks.

Is that max vcore the same as deneb, I.E. 1.5v-1.55v?

great results richie! i see you bumped htt to 309, i think you can still do better than that. try to max it out at 1.575v and see where you go unitl it craps out, then bump again the vcore to 1.625v and see if you can run the last htt clock, i bet you can. i think 4.5ghz is possible, as i have been runing that with turbo with just 1.575v

lower down cpu-nb and ram to test where you can go with the cores, i think 50c is the limit on these chips and you're still far away from it

    For 314 FSB you're on a Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P right?

I found this test but this phenom II X4 1055(2.8ghz) does not look terrible game ...

Probably I'll be buying a 1055T and replace my Phenom X4 II 550be.

And do you think, in game only ,at 4ghz, the phenom II X6 is better than Core i7 9xx or i7 8xx at 4ghz ?
    Thanks
Metro 2033 is possibly the worst game available to benchmark a CPU.

The best examples of multi-core scaling in recent games I can think of are Dragon Age and BFBC2 yet I don't think either shows decent gains at 6 over 4 cores.

ok ^^, it was just an example, I just want a test with games that support the multi-core scaling

These 1055Ts are looking to be good overclockers. I'm getting one asap.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

Source? I'm looking to upgrade my dual core because it's sucking it up in BFBC2.

This is great since you can fold and do world community grid or you can encode audio/video and still be able to have the same performance as if you are just gaming due to sheer number of available cores to you. This is also known as multitasking and these chips look like they were born for this kind of usage. Not to mention X6 clock great and have lower temps due to process node improvements AMD made with their 45nm SOI tech.
Battlefield BC2 is the only game that can just makes use of 6 cores, from my initial testing.. very little gain though.

To Polizei.. a Quad core absolutley demolishes an equivilent Dual in BFC2 though, just trust me on that and get one ASAP ;p
