    I come bearing gifts...

Ok boys, you should consider yourselves lucky to be able to try my customized benchmarking-oriented Windows ( ok, I might be overreacting and exaggerating I don't get to talk nice about myself often )

    Ok! ok! I'll stop mumbling

I haven't integrated any CD Keys, so yes, you can legally download these operating systems and try them for free for 30 days without a key or forever just by using your genuine CD Key.

They're in ISO format archived in split RAR files.
Just download the archives and extract the ISO and burn it with a cd/dvd burning application ( Nero, etc ).

    The links are interchangeable.

    Here we go:

    Windows Vista Ultimate x86 Xtreme

    Filelist @ BenchZone:
    Code:

    "Link-list" @ RS:
    Code:

The password for the archive is:

    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Xtreme

The password for the archive is:
    Code:
    www.benchzone.com
    **NOTE**
In the end of the installation you might get an error window, if you get the error just do the following:

DO NOT CLICK OK @ THE ERROR WINDOW/DIALOGUE
    1) Press Shift + F10 to open a command prompt window
    2) Type CD C:\Windows\System32\OOBE ( and press enter )
    3) Type msoobe ( and press enter... )
    4) Fill up the info ( username, password if you want, timezone, etc ) and click Finish
    5) Now in the CMD window again type Audit and hit enter
    6) Click OK on both error/warning windows, the system will restart and finish the installation.
You might get an automatic restart in the first boot.

    Have fun!

Lots of registry changes, removed lots of components & services & files, preconfigured most settings

    See above.
Especially for the Windows XP & the 2003 Server I don't remember most of the details because I've prepared those a long long time ago.

One thing I remember for sure though is that I intentionally left LSC to 0.
So if you want to bench SuperPi 32M with the Windows XP x86 Xtreme make sure you go to regedit and change LSC ( Large System Cache ) to 1 & restart the PC for the change to take effect.

Are you able to see consistent and measurable score increases generally across the board or is this more of a "it definitely can't hurt" kind of thing?

I'm sorry but I can't seem to figure out what you're talking 'bout

    The "nhelper.exe" ?

i think he's asking if these OS's give better scores while benching than
non tweaked OS's.on a consistent basis or is it more a placebo affect
kind of thing, where it seems to score better so i guess it cant hurt.
but thats just what i understand him to be asking,i could be wrong

Well, if that was his question the answer is definitely yes.
The cut-down modified versions have a real advantage over a normal installation, deffo not a placebo effect.

Cool, yes, that's what I was asking though dunno if I'd call it "placebo effect" but close enough to the point Just wanted to make sure it was really worth the effort to use these instead of my other OS install(s) dedicated for benching. Thanks again and to Radaja too...

I'm going to download them from both my FTP & RS to do a file check.
They should be working fine though ( unless something was corrupted during the archiving process or the uploading process ).
