Unplanned memory arrived. 2x2GB G.Skill DDR3 1600MHz CL6 1.65v

Did more cable management, fixed kinked tube, leveled the res/pump, installed memory, and finally decided on loop path.
Since temps don't change for crap when the routing is changed, I'm going with the simplest and cleanest route.

Cable management

I will have more pics to post tonight. I'm waiting for the 24 pin 8" extension to come in so it can be sleeved as well as my reference 5770. Once those items the build will be pretty much complete.

hmm... it's really Nehalem... but whatever. I likes.

How are you enjoying the board? I've had a hellacious time with mine. Seeing you're all decked out makes me jealous/

Lynnfield is based off Nehalem, but it has an integrated IMC and PCI-E controller, and also has a different socket. Definitely not Nehalem.

I'm enjoying it very much. Clocks very well, responds to memory overclocks well. Great board.

8 inch 24 pin cable arrived. Came with two white ends, replaced motherboard end with a black one. I was planning on sleeving it, but to my surprised it arrived in all black wiring. No sense in wasting sleeving...

Looks good enough to me.

Looks like a good start, I agree that the black wires look good, sleeving is nice, but it's getting a little too common I'd say. Bare wires are more unique

By that I'm assuming you think that the Bloomfield chips are "Nehalem"? All the Core i-series are Nehalem (Core i3/i5/i7, Bloomfield/Lynnfield/Clarkdale/Arrandale/Gulftown), just different configurations of it - but the core logic is all the same. What changes is the UnCore (the PCIe controller and such that you mentioned).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_N...oarchitecture)
See the variants subsection. We're all one big happy family, just different shapes.

Does my signature bug you because it doesn't say " Nehalem " ? Is it really that big of a deal that my sig says Lynnfield. Here is a good example; how many people have you seen call the i9's Nehalem's? I'm pretty sure the majority of people refer to them as Gulftown. Just like people referred to i5-750's and i7 8xx at launch as Lynnfield. We all know what they are based off of, but differentiating them is much easier using the specific architecture name. Why does it bug you anyway?

Nice build, but its a shame really to have spend that 100 bucks on the Asus Chipset/Mosfet where you could have spend it on a faster video card. Its not in need of cooling and from the looks of it the southbridge block sits in the way for an Crossfire upgrade? Or does it leave just enough room to add a second video card?

I'm pretty sure Eddy made that block so that a video card could still be installed there.
And lets keep watercooling for p55 motherboards discussion in it's appropriate thread .

Actually, that's not entirely correct - Gulftown (and other new 32nm CPUs due to be released in March) are based upon the Westmere architecture
Remember the good old game.. Nehalem was Tick, Westmere is Tock (die-shrink, more Cores/L3, hardware AES unit etc)

On topic: Nice build, I like it

Looks like a nice build so far! nice choice of hardware also

I was tempted many times to pick up that EK pump/res combo but I couldn't really find any reviews on it so avoided it, do let us know how it works out.

Glad you like them, I try and utilize my D40 and 35mm f/1.8 lens as much as possible. :P

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The pump/res combo should do well, I have faith in EK products. A second card will fit, just barely. EK did a wonderful job designing the P7 series blocks. Although they are unnecessary, I wanted to cool the entire motherboard. I didn't want to spend too much on a video card because this rig will be used for light gaming, I'm not a hardcore gamer. I wanted a moderately quiet case that would properly cool an overclocked i5 750 but also have the aesthetics be a big part of the build as well. Nice, clean, functional, that was the goal.

Leaked tested approved.

Rig is up and running, working great. 5770 is overclocked to 960MHz core / 1445MHz memory and after 40 minutes of Furmark's xtreme test the max temp is 47c, average is 46c.
http://img.techpowerup.org/100206/Capture.jpg

I will have more pics of the system running tomorrow.
