That first picture is that before you used it? Or did I understand it wrong because I can also see a crack in the first picture.

Because of several problems with those cheap bad*ss low quality material, the magicool elegant rads are no longer available at Aquatuning and some other shops since several month Same problem with the reservoirs from magicool - better avoid them and buy EK or Alphacool Tube Res for example. High Quality Roehm Plexi/Acryl - made in Germany ftw !

OP, do you have a pic or two of the entire loop including the rads?

I've had dealings with Alphacool products before and they don't seem very high quality to me.

Acrylic like this is very sensitive to any alcohol additions or derivatives in the coolant.
    What coolant did you use?
Some acrylic (we use that for our blocks) that is not extruded is more durable...

I have an Elegant rad too, but it's never been in use. It has a lot of cracks, had them when I got it. I think I won't take any chances and get some other rad instead.

Yes casted Acrylic it the most durable. Extruded Acrylic was the issue in first edition of Classified plexi block.

I can't trust anything that involves something thin and clear.
Signatures make my posts look huge... but I'm not humble enough to completely remove my signature, so I kept this note explaining it.

did you have tubing pulling on the fitting by any chance? Looking at that shear line, it seems that there was some pressure and maybe it just finally gave way after being borderline for a while...

I really hope that the watercooling companies of this world switch away from acrylic and move towards polycarbonates sooner than later so that we can stop worrying about things like Typhoon 3s and these rads cracking...

This is the response I got from Magicool:

Polycarbonat is very sensitive to any alcohol or derivatives in water coolant. We give no warranty
for useing that cooling fluid. If damage is not customers fault please contact your business partner
    for RMA.

    Me: No why?
Friend: My PSU just blew up, I think the second 8800GTX might have been too much for it to handle
Me: what PSU was that again?

I wonder if this is a possible scenario: a bank robber comes into a bank with a bottle of methanol/ethanol/isopropanol (whichever does more damage) and sprays it on the 1-inch thick Lexan bulletproof glass that separates the tellers from the customers. Then he gently taps the glass with his pinky, and it all cracks!

Even though I have a Magicool full metal rad in my loop I didn't trust their plexiglass headered radiators when I saw them.
