was gonna go for it tonight when i was trying for 4.4ghz 3dmark06... couldnt get past cpu tests, what vcore and temps did you need for your high clocked 3dm06 runs?

i think 4.5 valid would be no problem with cold wisconsin winter air but 4.6 would be tough. i will go for it next few weeks, weather has to be juuuuust right

ps. anyone have a good aluminum cooler (or any non-heatpipe cooler) - my heatpipes were freezing last night within like 30 seconds of having pc hanging out the window, so i had to keep it partway inside the house to find a balance, once the cores got to 6c is about when the heatpipes would freeze and then it would just steadily rise and rise until i brought it mostly in the house. which means my lowest idle i can run with this heatsink is about 7-8c, and Wisconsin has so much more to offer than that

I have 4551 MHz (ambients was 13 C )validation with air....More is not possible, maybe with luck i can hit 4560-4570....I know only, 4600 MHz "easily" hit Chew with AIR, think, if he want it, can make validation with air about 4650-4700 MHz

I had it at 4.6 the other night and tried to validate but i think i did not check the argeement box when installing CPU-Z. Was unable to validate. But i ran SuperPi 1M at 4580 which was much better for me than validating at 4.6

its very hard with max RAMs and NB, i have not so high NB, of course. Think, u can hit about 4700 MHz with tweaking AIR (lower RAms+NB), know, AIR is for u so boring :-)...

Hmm I should probably try some cold air or water testing but I think I have to wait another month for the cold to "kick" in around here.

Wow, you guys have real cold wheater, here in the Netherlands it's around 0ºC atm, waiting for the temps to drop a couple of degrees below zero.

If i can do 1M at 4580MHz (four cores of course), what will be my max validation frequency? 4650? 4700?

I have no idea, never done validation actually.

ZEus: i had ambients about 11 C yesterday.
my run superpi with aircooling was at 4410 MHz (NB 3000+ MHz). So, max validation i had 4570 MHz (more than 150MHz up, of course, for higher validation u must down NB clock about 1800-2400MHz, it help you about 50-70Mhz up for validation, RAM downcloks a bit too)

thanks guys, ram is insane and Gigabyte is awesome, C3 rules, rig is the beast overall...

    FireDragon, I don't know, I think that my sticks (3x2GB 1866 7-8-7-20 1.65V) are the same as 2000 C7 (3x2GB 2000 7-8-7-20 1.65V), this is my i7 920 test with advertised speed and timings, so far 1900 7-8-7-20 1T 1.65V no problem...
