** OFFICIAL ** Core i5 Overclocking Results/Tips Thread
boobs
I will start the ball rolling with this VERY modest o/c, I am stuck on stock cooling atm so I am being held back my temps allot.
BIOS vcore - 1.22v
RAM voltage - 1.645
VTT - auto
QPI Ratio - 16
RAM Ratio - 5
C1E & EIST - Disabled
Spead Spectrum - Disabled
Load Line Calibration - Disabled

I'm having a ton of trouble myself with my new i5 750 and 4x2gb dimms.
I can do 3.5ghz @ 1.3v core and 1.15v VTT, all else stock.
3.8ghz@ 1.3875v core and a monstrous 1.41v vtt. I'm sure the insane VTT is because of the 4 dimms being used :/

Weird, check this to see if you missed anything obvious
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6zANFlYEDM
I have the GD65 so this helped me quite a bit, although I nvr touched VTT and only have 2x4GB.
Have you checked the basics like, dropping you RAM/CPU multi and seeing what base clock you can get stable?

I've overclocked once or twice in my day.
I've dropped the qpi multi to 32x, ram to 6.0x, cpu multi to 10x, and loosened ram timings a ton to narrow it down to a BCLCK soft-wall.
The only thing that has helped has been to raise the VTT (mch is on this voltage circuit) by a -ton for every little bit of BCLCK I raise.
It's kind of unfortunate, but I'll probably just run 3.5Ghz for the sake of my VTT.

My Giga P55 UD5 will NOT under any circumstances allow a BCLK higher than 160 if i have more than two sticks of RAM in the computer, if I remove two of them(I also have 4x2GB) it does 210 BCLK without a hitch.

i5 750 sweetspot on stock
Not having anything better than the stock cooler, and looking for the sweet-spot of o/c and temps, I have settled on the following:
19x160=3040 MHz
36x QPI
1.1750v vcore, LL off (gives 1.15 actual, 1.14 under load)
1.9v Mem using Patriot Viper @ 1600/7.7.7.23
All other voltages at AUTO
Max temp using Prime95 is around 65 celcius with ambient temp of 22 degrees.
I'm looking forward to the release of aftermarket coolers, and annoyed that the lga775 ones 'just' don't fit!

Stable to use 24/7 but it does fail prime95 after a while...

Yeah, 4GHz is quite easy, after you found out, how your motherboard behaves...

Good to know. I have the UD2 matx board and I'm feeling lucky to get the 175 BCLK at 1.19v VTT with 4x2gb.
I'm kind of torn about this because with 8gb and pagefile disabled, my system is much smoother than any other I've used.

Hi Guys,
I just bought i5 750 last night from Egg...I didn't get mobo and ram yet, I found this thread is really interesting me here.
@ keenan, I like your idea to buy cheaper mobo and it works like charm and no need spend expensive one.
I am drooling of your mobo, but I think I had enough with gigabyte brand and maybe this time to get different brand like Asrock P55 Pro or better.
Guys, would you please run Core Temp 0.99.5 to see what is your VID ?, also dates and batch if possible, just take screenshot to post here.
I will post it when my new shiny i5 750 arrive probably next week.
Keep up strong i5 750 !

Just to recap, most chips seem to be doing the following:
Average Low OC: 3.6GHz @ ~1.22 to ~1.30
Average Medium OC: 4.0GHz @ ~1.35 to ~1.38 vcore
Average High: 4.3GHz @ ~1.38 to ~1.42vcore
Keep up the results people!

Anyway the thread is turning out just the way I planned, somwhere were people can discuss results, and how they achieved the results.
I am still waiting on the LGA156 Bracket from Corsair before I can do anything else

Besides the fact the title is different, the original thread is the same as this...
Edit: No big deal but the other thread was posted several days before you created a new thread, that's all. There was another thread started by batman too! So it gets confusing.

Only thing confusing is your title, specially if your thread was meant to be about overclocking results and tips.
My thread is about, my title..
Core i5 Overclocking Results & Tips.
Hence my threads penis is 4.2" and yours is 2.1"
Now enough about you telling me how many people had already created a thread just like mine, and back to some epic i5 Results.
How about we see a screenshot with the vcore as well Vinus of your 4.3Ghz, coz thats pretty extreme
If I can hit 4Ghz when I get my Cooling I will be MORE than pleased.
