- Clear new boards with LOTES vs Foxconn socket with new CPU
Only that makes 100% clearance for xtreme overclockers.


If not, 100000 technical people means you and the other "burnouter" are
only crazy panic entertainer vs Foxconn . U know the technical conditions ,that socket 1156 has 75Vcc pins less vs socket 1366 ? ..... its better manufactures limit VCore.

We mean u lift LOTES and others not fair in heaven .

Many high credible peeps have reported this burn phenomena (Massman, SF3D and now Raju) when doing high overclocks that something really goes wrong... And yes these guys usually don't do 24 hour prime sessions just raw LN2 or Phase benching...

There's a design flaw and their intention is NOT to bring a particular brand down, but to help the identify the problem. So it can be corrected before more end users(read overclockers) are being involved...

And really 2 volts for a boxed cooler under stress, that's a video I would love to watch, even on youtube...

Plz don't act silly as you really are making a fool out of yaself... we got an issue here , just like it started with the Hyper rams ; believers and non believers at start... manufacturers withdrawing their products and so on...

i dont know if anybody only reads the thread title, but if they do, they probably get the wrong idea...
this isnt a gb problem... well, until they confirmed they switched sockets it kinda is indirectly... but yeah, im sure you get what i mean.
the focus should be on 1156 socket, and maybe foxconn as well, not board makers...

Just to confirm, I´ve got ECS P55, ASRock P55 also and they don´t do very well contact. Just letting now since not many users try this brands here.

As for the problem itself, I have a few p55 boards available (foxconn) and I would gladly test and contribute to the topic but I am not ready to burn them all on my expense since my retailer will not RMA them 100% if they have physical damage visible

You could always try just mounting the CPU and checking the pin-pad contact. Other than that, you would be exposing it a little.

Haha holy crap, so are we actually going forward with the DIY LOTES socket now?
I mean I'm all about DIY, but this is probably the most nervous I would be. 2nd most would be bridge painting in 2002 lol.

thats the part Lathode that is all under wraps. I've had two vendors come forwards and show me what Foxconn sent them. Foxconn claim the issue was identified in May and that Intel were due to revise their design to rectify. Apprently these were supposed to be sample sockets with the issue and all issues were supposed to be in house in some vendor labs. Since then there have been issues reported on what is supposed to be the revised Foxconn socket (or samples that have gone into the wild on retail boards), so I'm not sure what to believe at this point. What some of the vendors have seens themselves is not centric to an earlier model or revision of socket.

Heh I have a nice HD camera so you can see the contact burnout in full HD 1080P, I have the proper tools and I have the foxconn socket and an 860......

I would be more than happy to video my board catching on fire and give the rights to Anand.
