Call of Duty 4 - iw3mp.exe

Hi all,

I install cod4 on my laptop, but when I try to play online gives me always the same error, iw3mp.exe stop working, someone knows how to solve this?

All patches installed up to 1.7
Punkbuster also updated.

Laptopell XPS M1710, card 7950 GTX
OS: Vista 32 SP1

Do you have a legit copy of the game?

There's workaround renaming one of the files to a .bak extension. I'll try and dig it up again...

I think the problem is in the sound try enabling you mic and i think it will work.

yup, usually sound related. as mentioned ^^, enable your mic if your sound drivers are installed, and if they aren't...then install them and you should be in business

Problem solved, latest sound drivers from dell intalled and voila i´m in the game.

Wow! This error can be sound related? I've had this problem with CoD4 only. Crysis ran fine, so I didn't think it was a OC problem.

I will enable my mic and see if it helps.

Yeah I had the same problem with windows vista. I didn't install directx 9 because I thought vista would have it covered and nope sure didn't. Installed the latest directx and the problem went way
