The main reason I'm getting one is because my Abit IP35 Pro doesn't let me use my Ballistix at 1066MHz the way they're meant to be. And of course, for SLi down the road, thanks to Intel not letting Nvidia make any Nehalem chipsets..
yeah what is with the FTW crap, it's so lame, computer hardware is already geeky enough w/out those kinds of monikers
Indeed, no eVGA stuff for me with all those stupid adds behind the names. Ill let the 12 year old kids have them.
However, this board looks a lot better than the vanilla one. But, as an enthusiast brand I think they never ever should have released the vanilla one... only 9% solid caps!? 6 phase for a 200 Euro board? Nah

Strange. I never had problems running my Ballistix at 1200mhz on my IP35 Pro.
it amazes me how people so quickly put down hardware for inane things like names or colors.
I'd take a board called the "for the loser with no life" and the board was pink with polka dots on it, if it OC'd well.

I really wish EVGA would put another PCI or PCI Express slot in there. I'm a fan of EVGA as a company, and I think they really try to make quality stuff while also taking care of their customers. Nevertheless, they seem to overlook some of the nicer little things that would keep me from being tempted to switch back to ASUS.
I wonder if they'll ever take on Intel motherboards. EVGA X58 anyone?

It's more the whole picture actually.
Vanilla board is quality wise crap. They release a 'FTW' version, which is standard quality for most enthusiast brands, while the vanilla one already sells for 200 Euro's...
Then we've their GPU's with all sorts of stupid add ons while it's still a reference card, but you easily pay 100 Euro's more for the 'best add on'.
I mean, look at Gainward. Their GS cards are really designed by them selves without 23 variations of it. Or Palit for example, they dont even go all fancy over their own design, still that's the true innovation unlike eVGA & Co with all their childish add ons.
If it OC's damn good, yeah, you've a point. But eVGA still uses reference crap (no, I dont call the little modifications which any electronic could do his self non-reference), charges premium prices while it simply doesnt do significantly better then most other reference boards, not even to speak about non-reference boards.
No offence, in the end there's obviously a market for it, but to tell it this way, there is a market for everything
Ultimate Fail with those white PCI slots. Otherwise a modest improvement over the reference board, too bad it still requires that retarded PCIe 2.0 chip.

I guess i will rebrand rock as a ultimate FTW hardcore war weapon.
I'd buy atleast half a dozen, gotta keep my stocks up just in case I go to war with my flint throwing neighbors.
